i wonder what is the best strategy against enemys. Im guessing there isnt. This makes it unique i love games like this!

Oh, by the way, here's my tip: go with ALL dumbfire missiles. Maybe put one point into some random "active power" if you REALLY must, but I didn't even do that. Dumb missiles are the most powerful weapons (going by damage per second), and since they don't fire directly in front of you, you're very likely to hit with them (since you're likely to be just off-center from whatever you're shooting at, so you shoot at them and still dodge their direct shots back).

How much HP does the final boss have? My guess?
Eleventy billion.
Great game. The levels themselves were pretty easy, but the bosses MORE than made up for that.

I don't like how the enemy shots are bigger than they need to be, I don't know the actual distance until I get hit....

Eternal jedi, It's a song from starfox. Remixed and edited. You probably heard it on brawl; almost no one plays starfox anymore.

The third level has one bad ass boss... Dodging giant lasers and magic flying circles at the same time... Then I got bored and quit.

definitely buy chain lightning lvl 1 at the beginning. ive even bought lvl 3 after 3 levels. it just makes the mass fights way easier. ok, homing missiles are moe effective against bosses. but chain lightning really rocks.

Great game one of my all time faves. That last boss is a bitch to learn the patterns to but red missiles+super shot gets him dead fast enough. It helps he takes like 90% of the screen so that u can just spam them on him even when he's firing crap everywhere.

These song are from Nintendo games, but they are heavily remixed. The level music is Corneria from Starfox, and boss music is from the last stage in Super Mario Galaxy, I believe. Not sure what the menu song is though.

This loaded as the "Kong is down for a bit, so play this." game. I love the beefed up minimalist games like this...But the music implies one thing which is not provided in the game...Why can't I do a barrel roll???

I confess that I am a fan of awesome bosses, and that I usually only play action or shooting games for the bosses. I am glad to say your game has not dissapointed. ( I hope you will realise that this comment will be focused on the bosses) Favourites of mine were the triple shield one, where only one ship was unprotected, the laser cage one, and the last boss. Most attacks have a certain strategy to avoid being hit. One negative: Getting hit protects your ship for a few moments and in that time you can clear a path through a difficult attack. (Oh by the way, I got a D on the last level!)

I think that faster ship speed should have been a passive upgrade. Why? I keep on dying because my ship was far too fast!
This isn't to say that this game is bad. In fact it's amazingly challenging. Simple - but yet beautiful - graphics make the point very easily on what is going on. Neon graphics should be a more common thing.
Great music but you should shuffle it up by, on the second half of levels, switching it with a remix of the first Axelay level's music. That would please any hardcore shooter fans, myself included in that group.
Keep up the improvement zestygames, I'm looking forward to an even more frantic sequel.

I rarely ever comment on Kongregate, but this one merits some affection. User Mashadaar phrased it perfectly. Those boss battles were really something else. Mad props. I've played a LOT of shooters, but rarely (if ever!) do I actually enjoy battling those 'laser cage' type bosses.
One nitpick: the player's hitbox - where is it and how big is it??

@neotoxic slightly wrong on the music for main level mate it's actually a remix of the corneria theme from starwing still good either way :D

Good music, fun gameplay. An enjoyable interpretation of a tried and true formula. 4/5. Review in full at http://gameolosophy.com/games/action/on-flash-games-24-red-fluxion/
