in response to purple melon, fruit of youth gives u unlimited endurance. u need to climb the pillars to get lightning to zap the wall surrounding it. rate this up to keep it alive.

Excellent game in the Metroid-vania mold... also, love the twisty ending, don't see those too often. Going to start playing through the other two endings now, keep it up with the great game development. 5 stars, for sure.

For anyone interested, since no comments seem to have been made, there is a lightning sword that you can get after acquiring the gloves, the glider and enough endurance. And with it, you can get a berry that grants eternal youth, and you'll never lose endurance.

If you get the lightning power-up, and get back to the top of the mountain you can zap the control buttons/icons that tell you how to play.

well ,,,, ive seen many many good games in my career as a gamer , but a game with such a nice story and cool game play thats not sth u see everyday well ......................... it helped me kill 2.5 hours when i was bored ,, so thx Zillix .. u really did it this time :) peace out everyone :)

Wow, nice endings. lol don't help deities or kill anything but them. "The world was swallowed by darkness", "Forever, endeavor" "Look at the blood on your hands". In the order I got them...

Figured it out ... all items are Gloves, Boots, Flippers, Glider, Thunder, Youth, Teleport, Detector.
But I still wish there was something to do with the mushroom man and the mushroom!

Fun game, I enjoy the exploration/increasing abilities nature of the game. Reminds me a little of Knytt with the critters and all. Nice job.

I made a comment on here about some lag I had been experiencing, and I was wrong on this game being the source. I want to thank Zillix for his quick response to my concern. Changed my rating to 5/5. I love the concept and execution.

I killed all the dwarves, spurned the soul-quest creature, said heck with it and climbed all the way up to the sword, on the way becoming nigh on immortal...but I still had to give every gem I collected to the creature in the sky...

Oddly enough, while being a truly indie minimalistic platformer, this game is actually an RPG in the purest sense of the word. That means, when I hear suggestions to fulfil my bloodlust, I cannot possibly believe the game developer meant this as the only legit way to complete the game. Yet it still allows you to kill EVERYBODY, despite the fact that nothing can harm you. Just how freakin' role-playing that is??! The same applies to your trust/distrust towards anyone who talks to you. It's your own decision. That is AWESOME, brilliant. I bet some people felt like crying when their "weakling" dwarf climbed the endless wall to that great tune and then your fellow dwarfs told you how you had changed. Such little moments change people and purify their hearts. That's what true games are about.

@Zillix: don't really think it NEEDS a map, I completed it in 3 times (i mean i slept inbetween) and it is pretty straightforward in my opinion, really good design. Am pretty sad though, I just completed it for the 1st time and I managed to have all 3 "different ending conditions"completed but then I got the bad one :'( (obviously it has to be like this ;) )
vey nice seeing we can still make good games with a very simple engine and good imagination. 5/5

This is a great game, 5/5 . You usually don't find a lot of pixel games with a story line like this. I love how there is still infliction at the end of the story. genius game. Bravo Zillix. You are truly a great game maker.

Would be nice if the load was before collecting the last crystal, rather than after that. Cool game, but I won't be playing it from the start for the other ending(s)...
