V1.03. Fixed the update button. It was working before only it was set to a higher level hence would take a while to upgrade. For those who have played the game already, you must press the reset button to see it in effect. Thanks!

I understand you spent a lot of time fine-tuning the balance of the three types of debaters, but the upgrade costs are absolutely ridiculous. I have no desire whatsoever to grind and grind and grind, even with an autoclicker, to be able to reach the next level so early on in the game. And once I manage to reach that next level, grind again and again. I don't mind upgrade cost sharing, but the fact the costs are squared/upgrade and shared is completely flawed.

Thank you for the feedback RemiM4. Part of the challenge of the game is to find an optimal or near-optimal path towards the top. There are several actually. The best ones only need 63 wins. The situation you found yourself in tells me you have chosen a sub-optimal combination of upgrades. That's why we also provided a reset stats button so you you can have another shot( 5 actually) if you get stuck without having to lose your xp and money. Give it another shot!

All cost sharing does is make this game take long than it should. It makes no sense for a level 2 upgrade to cost the same as a level 9 upgrade. And the knowledge upgrade still doesn't work.

It's actually a bit more than that. Cost sharing keeps things in balance. It appears nonstandard because the enemy progression is nonstandard. We have three classes of enemies but for simplicity opted for a single progression path. A level 3 logician for example is not equal to a level 3 humorist. Likewise, a level 3 logic hat is not equal to a level 3 humor hat. So as you progress in enemies, the costs progress with you. But the rewards also move upward. It is a delicate balance and took us months to give a semblance of stability. You can also think of cost sharing if you will as a socialized market of sorts. Prices increase with your income - a hat costs a dollar to a pauper but a vigintillion to a multivigintillionaire! Cheers!

That having been said, it's really great game. It's got much potential, but I hit the point of annoying and pointless grinding 10 minutes into the game. Otherwise, awesome awesome awesome game.
