Jim Meenan

With over 12 years of experience in online entertainment, Jim Meenan serves as the Vice President of Product at Kongregate. Jim has led design and development for projects including Kongregate's virtual currency system, site-wide social games, communication systems and navigation.

Jim joined Kongregate following a five year tenure at Simple Star, where he led marketing and product initiatives for the PhotoShow family of products. Over 13 million copies of PhotoShow software were installed on computers around the world thanks to partnerships with companies like Comcast, Time Warner, Walgreens and Kodak. The company was acquired by Sonic Solutions in 2008.

As a long aficionado of digital media, Jim's early career was spent bringing online music services to the masses. At Moodlogic (acquired by Rovi), Jim worked on one of the first commercial music recommendation systems. Jim also managed marketing initiatives for Live365 in the early days of the service, building the broadcaster foundation which has enabled them to maintain a leadership position for over a decade.

While earning his BS in Marketing at Santa Clara University, Jim worked on the initial web presences for several multi-platinum recording artists and booked live concerts for some of his favorite bands across California. He has been an avid gamer for nearly 30 years, and was a semifinalist in the 1990 Nintendo World Championships.
