Jun 17, 2011 4:13pm Develop this more, please! This could be ridiculously awesome, to the point of being addictive. This is rare in puzzle games. Especially flash puzzle games. You can add some other transformations. Please get rid of the enemies. Again, this game is ridiculously awesome. ![]()

May 17, 2011 6:22pm “Another platformer. Let’s hope its actually decent.” 5 minutes later, the whole family is staring at the computer, just beginning to grasp the concept of a 2D character in a 3D world. It’s AWESOME! Thank you for making Sky Island. I had to force myself to get off the computer anytime I had to leave.

I decided to take a look in the new games section of Kongregate, and found a little title named ‘Sky Island’. At first, it looked like a generic platformer. I remember hearing myself think “meh, at least someone put up the effort to include a soundtrack.” Still, I liked the artstyle and therefore decided to try it out for a little while. What happened then is almost indescribable. The game told me to click and move my mouse, and in following said instruction something inside my mind snapped. I remember sitting there for fifteen minutes trying to wrap my head around what had just happened, realizing that a feeling like that had not occured in me for a very long time. When I finally regained my ability to move, I found myself playing the first couple of levels, amazed at the concept and the very smooth learning curve of the game. Looking at the built-in clock of my computer I noticed I was getting late, so I had to quit. The only thing I could do – after completing one more level – was search for a 6th star, reluctantly hit the 5th star, adding the game to my favourites and promising myself that I would get back to this after work was done. All day in the office I couldn’t resist thinking of that little gem I found, thinking of interesting applications in leveldesign, and how this technique would impact gameplay. When I got home, I took a sprint towards my computer, booted up my browser and started the game again. To my further amazement, all those little things I thought of did end up in the final set of levels. The game also did not fall into a pitfall that so many other puzzly games tend to end up in, namely the last levels being way too hard to perform or becoming a speed/luck challenge rather than a logic/skill test. Congratulations on making this awesome creation a reality, and thank you very much for making my day. show less
