Thanks very much for the suggestions for Anti-Idle. I saved up and purchased the Crimson armor. You were right as it was fairly easy to gain the needed materials by mining. :)
the only way to avoid arty and bomb drop is to simply have a max unit count of 6, if u have 6 or less trops, u r completly safe from Arty and Bomb drop
