On soft moss and leafs I made a pillow
And fell asleep beneath a weeping willow
Caressed by the breeze and the suns beams
I slipped in to the sweetest of dreams
In a peaceful place, during a wonderful time
When we enjoyed life, and knew not crime
Old friends and I would talk and play
And all our worries would go away
Then next I found you in my arms
I tried to sway you with my charms
My blue eyes looked into your soul
That’s when I felt myself lose control
Passion sweeping away all fear
So close we were our lips so near
A kiss so powerful, so true, so free
And I awoke, and wept, beneath the willow tree.
~~
I stare at the ceiling, counting each breath that I’m breathing.
Memories flash of friends in my past, were the moments we shared also our last?
Eyes are red from tears I’ve shed, at the past I regret and the future I dread.
Heart beating a slow sad beat, taunting me into admitting defeat.
Alone again with myself to blame, for my lack of pride and abundance of shame.
I curse the world for letting me live. How much longer now? What more can I give?
Life has lost it’s color and light, now it grows dark like a black moonless night.
Heavy is my body and cold are my limbs, sad are the shadows as the light dims.
I shiver and sigh and deeply inhale, the stagnant air of a world gone stale.
I exhale and wonder why, I continue to breathe when I’d rather die.
