This is so addicting. Needs a sequel, possibly with the cursor as a pickax, or a little man/dwarf digging or something. Although it has what looks like it was made with Microsoft paint, it is VERY addicting.

Pro-Tip: Hit alt-shift-num lock and activate the ease keys. Then press and hold '5' & '+' on the num pad. Every time you hit '5' it counts as one click, every time you hit the '+' it counts as two clicks... You'll save yourself from carpal tunnel syndrome and your mouse won't go bad. :D

So it seems like this doesn't work at all on a 64-bit browser. I upgraded to Chromex64 and can no longer see any of the numbers in the game. I can see the commas, but no text or numbers.

It seems to me that the quality of the pickaxe is really just a multiplier to the blacksmith's base power. I figure most people have also noticed this but the dev stated that the quality is only relevant to its rarity. + so that the dev can see and add it to the help page

Diary Entry 58: Not a moment after I left these pages last I was afflicted with the most loathsome encounter of my life. Immediately, I recognized the stench. Miley Cyrus had crept her way into the hell cave. The banshee had hair like the Medusa, and clothes which made Persephone seem to be the goddess of chastity. It swung toward me, screeching her emaciated siren song, piercing the very stone with her vile tone. In desperation, I pulled my last Soulstone from my pouch. The light from the stone scoured the beast, and it recoiled in horror. Courage entered my chest. "Begone!" I shouted "AND TWERK NO MORE!" The sullenly clad critter bound back, screaming a noise akin to that which emanates only from the seventh circle of hell. By the time the Soulstones last light glimmered, the cavern was quiet again. I questioned my motives as I had done before. But it was not greed that drove me. There was nothing anymore. No money, no fame. It was the mine itself that drove me, nothing else.

@gormor Flash player will automatically pause when you switch to a different tab. Solution: use a different window, not a different tab.

Diary Entry 57: The Hell cave only goes deeper and deeper. There seems to be no end. The blacksmith continues to charge increasingly egregious prices for his continued failure. After spending trillions of dollars on upgrades, his smithy has only provided several hundred duds. Luckily Mitt Romney and Bank of America will pay whatever it takes for me to continue mining. The Hellstones seem to sooth their demon souls, their eyes take on a blacker, and colder form upon receiving them. I can only hope China does not find the Hellmines, as the migrant workers would surely underprice me. They continue to pine after worthless gold however, the fools. Wait... I hear something in the distance. I will return later..
