100 ore isnt enough recources to make a great army out of, the only way to win survival is a good tactic mine is forward defence kill before mother gets killed

Well ok after some "thinking"...i reached wave 29 but....got killed by the heck amount of force. One idea that could be used is bait. Use a mine bomb(not attackers cause they will attack) and go near enemy ships/rockets. They would always chase the target it locked itself on so your cruisers can finish the job. I won't try it again though....boring and pointless....i'm outta this game.

@ TheRabidBaby: I actually managed to stop the drone from repairing by just parking him somewhere and hitting stop once. That way he doesn't move even though there is a damaged unit in the vicinity. Hope this helps.

However, the thing that grinded across my nerves most was, for some reason, the lack of a command to stop the repair drone repairing automatically! Seemingly the only way to prevent this was to hammer on the stop button. The little drone took this to such an extent that even when the ore ran out it attacked itself to my mothership in a feeble attempt to repair it. Again, in survival mode, management of ore is vital, and it is incredibly frustrating to find yourself a few ore short because that little repair drone thought it would take the initiative.
So, yeah, a fun game until all these little things start to pop up. Fix these and you’ll have one of the best games on the internet (provided you add some more strategy with the asteroids, one sitting next your base isn’t a challenge)

benvwd there is a way, click on the mother ship so it is selected then again to de select it, it (in arcade) will have 2 options quit, or see mission

While at first seeming fairly enjoyable, there were a number of things that eventually managed to get on my nerves, especially since i failed survivor mode several times because of them:
The attacking system is just plain stupid. Its almost impossible to line up a decent attack against a mine without one of your ships deciding to run headlong into it. At one point, when i was attacking, all three of my ships just stopped firing! The enemy ships health bar was empty, but it was still there, firing away happily...that bug ended in my mother ship being destroyed. Occasionally, if i attack a ship with 2 or more of my own, one of the attackers will just wander off by itself! All these flaws pretty much make survival mode a matter of chance.
Also, there needs to be a better way to deselect things. I get tired or clearing my chat every time I deselect something.

It is impossible to control the ships in a battle properly. To send them to a single target, while others are attacking to is prevent by the band way all units are handled. You loose unnecessary ships through this; which is quite tough in the survival mode.
also woudl a zoom out function be very neat.

Need a way of bringing up the mission brief - they are too difficult to remember - take mission 2 - I've repaired eveything but can't remember what else to do now.

Figured out a way to take advantage of bad enemy AI. All you pretty much have to do is get your force set up as per most other comments here. First few waves just build cruisers and controller + repair bot during the third wave. Build up a moderate sized army of cruisers (4-5), and ensure you always keep your repair bot alive. This is easily done by positioning it near to your mothership and defending against enemies nearest to it first.
This is the main strategy though: Get a solid sized force of control ships. 4 will do nicely. Position them north, south, east and west of the mothership, approximately sitting on the edge of the earth in the background. The trick is to let these little guys tank everything for you. As they are fast, cheap and a have a solid amount of hp, most enemies will get off a single shot at them before bugging out and chasing them across the map. Try it out. ;)

Its a fun game but its way to laggy to be really fun and miss some tactic aspect to the game the arcade is just about building a bunch of gatheres and then 5 cruiser ships and one misile silo after that your finnished.

Survival is way too hard, there are barely any resources to use. Arcade mode was okay, but not so great if you've played Blizzard's games 3/5

Another thing, the control drone can be used like a shield, they support a nice damage (2 full damage of silos) and run for themselfes, use this for yours cruisers kill another in time, dont forget, the repair is your best friend

Horrible, horrible, horrible. Awesome ideas that almost work very well, but just kind of fall apart. Survival mode is nearly unplayable. 100 ore is not nearly enough to do anything productive. If you stick with the weakest attackers you will routinely end up right back where you started but with stronger foes, but if you try to use cruisers you'll run out of ore too fast. Letting your Mothership take hits is a necessary strategy, but you have no ore to use repair drones with.

Good I got it. I just sent all my ships away at wave 22 so it would finish. how i did it, If i remember right: first two rounds cruisers. then controller and repair thing. then upgrade damage to max while repairing between waves. then armor to max while repairing. At some point i got a 3rd cruiser. then i upgraded thust as well, for the points. then just keep repairing between waves and build cruisers now and then.

Jesto, you can increase your population with the 4th passive drone, the Control Drone, which allows you to have 10 more slots per control drone created.

The AI is stupid.....it will continue to attack even if i ask it to move somewhere esle. Cause of that lost 3 cruisers from level one to ten. No chance of winning now....GAY
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
1 wave: cruiser
2nd wave: repair
after that: damage+2, control drone, second cruiser
3rd cruiser comes after thrustx1 plate x3 damagex2
add control and repair droids as needed
make cruiser #4 and more after you have all upgrades
and huh, forget bout silo drones and kill rockets first ;)

See, this game is polished. It looks shiny, it's got plenty of gameplay options, it's reasonably comparably to a REAL RTS...
And yet, none of that will cover the fact that it's just not _good_. I mean, come on, it's slow, unwieldy, annoying, impossibly difficult, and generally downright _boring_ when it's not being _senseless_.
*3 / 5*.

Wait, the Medium badge is part of the challenge requirement? So not only is this a poorly chosen game in a week of great releases, but the challenge itself is thoughtlessly designed? I've heard the reasoning behind not choosing MD2, but unless it applies to all the new hits, poor show, Kongregate.
