So yeah, neat concept, lame execution. Though I gave it 3/5 and played enough to get the card, I'm not going to bother with it beyond that. What's up with the lame featured games the past few weeks?

One more: Strafing runs and/or pivotal turrets. Besides the UI fixes, there's very simple things that could be done to improve this game.

It's a good idea,it really is. However,the survival mode is quite difficult. Perhaps more ore to start,or no need for control bots,or something along the sorts.
Another thing that made me slightly made,was the fact when you got upgrades,they didn't apply to your existing ships,only created ones.I agree with most others, it is slow,but that's part of the style of game. I think it fits according to theme. One more thing is the fact units have minds of their own.YOu say do this,they do something else.
So improvements on the survival and unit commanding, and you have yourself a good game.

i really like if this game isnt soo boring, with music i sleep, without i be anger... survival is frustating, go play "Understanding Games" and gome back later...

Another constructive bit of criticism: Let me move my mother ship in survival mode. At least I could have fun making the ships chase me.

yes, the controls are terrible.
Two things that might help. 1 when you select a unit, don't make it so that you cursor assumes your going to do something with it. As in, make it so clicking somewhere else unselects the unit, not send it to attack or move... And in conjuction with that, HOTKEYS!!!! HOTKEYS DAMMIT! I completely agree with un_owen. I give you a 3/5, since the rest isn't that bad

The only addition I would make is a "patrol" choice because sometimes when you choose attack nothing happens. Also, WASD for move around the screen would be good

Nope, nope, my previous comment was too nice. I wish I could give 0 of 5. Good idea, crap execution. Survival would be doable if I could trust that my guys could carry out a simple go here and shot this command, but no, they can't.

Impossible challenge because I can't bring myself to actually play it more than 10 minutes. It's just farking annoying.

Fun. Its really buggy and needs work, though. unit grouping doesnt work, its really laggy with more than like 7 or 8 ships built, and most of it is either really easy or really hard. but i has potential. take the comments here into consideration, and Drone Wars 2 could be epic. :)

controls are counter-intuitive, units do what they want. This makes the survival mode impossible, especially when given such limited income.

Ack. S-s-s-slow gameplay. Not a game to play if you're sleepy. The "mining" ships have it correct...they are BORING into the asteroid....err, I repeat....BORING.

Trying to control your ships is way to sketchy. My favorite part is when they shoot one shot and then stop doing anything. 1/5.

you wont beleve it but i stoped playing and started reading coments and now im doing great all i do is ocasonly build a guy. the ai on this makes them go after enemies so i gess i dont do anything they kill the enemies.

2/5, good Ai, but the map is too small, pretty difficult to make 3800!!! It should have something else besides the 100 extra ore from an enemy wave.... 100, its cheap bro, its cheap!!!

A dammit survival mode, i say to ship " go to left" it be spinning a 360 and dont go, be killed, i lost and this game is a shame, very nice arcade mode, can have a lot of more stages and i dont will regret, but the survival need a lot of work or a walkthrough for play...

My biggest complaint is the fact that upgrades do not work retroactively. You can't upgrade units you've already built for some reason. Scratch that, my biggest complaint is that the unit AI is dumb as hell, and I often have to sit there, waiting for my units to decide to attack/repair something I just told them five times to target.

Dumb how if you have 2 mine drones going after each other, they just go around in circles, taking up to a few minutes just to kill one another. This is very annoying since I've tried to beat the 5th arcade level 3 times already using only mine drones. Please fix this somehow! >__<

Tips on survival: Cruisers. Nothing but cruisers, upgrades, repair bots, and control ships. Cruisers because they attack fast, are reasonably accurate, and have more HP than the strike craft and aren't silly like the missile craft (that I've found die before really even being effective). I have no idea how you're supposed to get to level 30 survival though. Once the missiles show up, god-awful targetting and unit movement make it impossible to stop the missiles with anything other than your face, which is, of course, counterproductive to winning.

I'm with the "normal is easy, survival bites" crowd. I'm not sure how people were getting ~4000 first try, 'cause I'm lucky if I can crack 1000. Tips, anyone? The only info on Google for it is about Arcade mode, and consists of "build more supply drones". -_-;;
