I agree with Hertz, it seems like the developer didn't consider the feedback that a majority of players from the previous game left, which was that our choices should have a greater impact on the outcome of the story. As it currently stands, this is just a linear path with no game-changing decisions to make. I, too, noticed that the dialogue interaction only works within a restricted range of the "E" bubble. It should begin working as soon as the bubble pops up. Another problem: why do you list only J and K as controls on the combat screen? It took me a while to figure out that Space was the jumping button. Why isn't it W or the up arrow? Very awkward. Aside from that, the graphics and combat are nice, but the previous game was excellent without those. My recommendation: focus less on combat/questing and more on a good story with rich decision-making. I give it 3/5.
Thanks for the solid criticism. I would've loved to focus more on making choices that have more consequence and effects but like with all of my games, they're huge learning experiences for me. I can only focus on so many things at once. This game needed more artwork and better programming, as well as way more planning. Adding branching stories onto that would've made it too much of a workload for just one game. This is something I want to learn and improve on soon, though.

Is anyone else getting the "E" bubble outside the zone where you can press E to interact?
Also, this is a great game, but I'm only giving it four stars because my choices don't really affect the story after the next few lines.
I didn't even plan for that at the start, but the story started going in that direction and the player sprite was so similar to how I imagined the smith's daughter grown up would look like, and I just rolled with it and fit it into the story.

The fact that you're playing as the smith's daughter adds a nice little twist to the game. I had a feeling you might be playing as her after you tell Jinora about being cured.
Also, it was nice of you to implement the music from the first game at the very end. Really brings everything together. The music from both games is just amazing.

When i seen that the creator of this game was the same of the "Home" i instantly rate 5 stars for this one even having not played yet. If for someone think that the first chapter was i little boring, well now is just perfect in my opinion. It seems more like if the first one was a sort of trampoline for the second. Is just awesome. Congrats again for the dev work.

Often times, new developers make a really, really good game. It captures our minds and our hearts. It's wonderful. But then, they lose it. They're a one hit wonder, they can't replicate the magic of their big hit. You are not one of those developers. The fact that your first game was so amazing, and somehow your second game was just as amazing, if not moreso, is incredibly rare. You're very talented Raius, I look forward to seeing what you put out in the future.

Despite the prequel being made not to long ago, this game gave me a feeling of nostalgia that brought me much joy. 5 stars!

I have to say, once I found out that the main character in this game is the Smiths daughter from "Home" I was overjoyed to say the least, and I don't think I have ever clicked on a game so fast in my life. This was the perfect sequel to "Home", everything was done right. I love that you are adding on to the amazing story by adding action sequences. I love "Home" and I love "The Journey Home" keep making amazing games and trying new things.

The fact that you are still in university and made this game just blew me away! I am glad to be able to be a part of an awesome series

Great after the first. It took me a minute to realize that I could dash in the air for distance. I could have clicked on this part of the good tutorial. We loved the game. Good job.

Such a great story. I found myself begging that the girl would survive. I loved this and the previous game, and can't wait to see more from you!

This game just made my day. This was a great continuation of the first game and I love what you added to it. Keep up the amazing work and I can't wait to see what you have in store for your next game, whether it is a part of this series or not.
Thanks so much! I'll have to start a new project as soon as I can, once I actually have an idea to work off of. Regardless, there'll be plenty more to come.

Would you consider making the up arrow and the W button also jump? It's a lot to control all at once - I only have two hands!

I can't tell if it's possible for me to whack the fireballs with my attack to defend myself, or if they're just all slamming into me and I"m supposed to dodge them.

Heh. I thought that this game was "Home" based on the preview icon, and I thought that I forgot to rate it. I gave it 5 stars before I realized that this is a completely new game. Played it through, kept the same rating.
The art style is pretty much identical, I can't blame you for mixing them up haha. Thanks a million, the ratings help so much for the monthly contest. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

This was an interesting change over the original. Although some aspects of the plot were reused, the more interactive features, including even naming one of the characters from the previous game, made it interesting. Although I think some decisions should have been mandatory, there is only one ending, and those decisions would have completely changed the game. It would be interesting, though, to have multiple endings if another game is implemented, as to turn the game from always nice and happy in the end to even, although not the cannon of the line, for you to possibly end up dead from your actions - good or bad. Overall, though, the music, depth of characters and other aspects it holds similar to the original game, Home, lands it at a 5 for me. Good work.

Oh crap... I named my character after myself, and I am a guy... Well... Appearently this girl has a boy's name now...

Possible Spoiler!
Me: *names the character Dusty*
End: *realizes that he was playing as the little girl all along*
Me: I feel a bit weird that I named her Dusty '>.>

Please help me, I simply can´t get to the last platform to get the last herbs for the girl. Is there any trick like double jump or cutting down one of these trees?

Great follow up to the first one. Took me a minute to realize I could dash in the air for distance. I might have clicked through that part of the tutorial though. Loved the game. Good job.
I admit the tutorial was left till the last minute and isn't the best way to show the controls, but I feel like it's light enough on gameplay that it doesn't affect the overall game too much. Thanks a million for playing!
I don't know what I'll make next, it could be connected to this series or it could be something entirely new, but I'll definitely keep making games so yeah, there'll be more coming. Thanks for playing!

Follow the given advice. Home is a great game and should definitely be played. The time spent, although short, will not be ill-spent.
