As someone who played this before your previous game, I can say it stands well on its own. The one thing is that I gave the character a masculine name. It's not much of a problem though. I can totally see a Smith giving his daughter an odd name.
Now that I've played both games, the natural next step feels like a story based on Meredith. As this game took a character from the previous game, I can imagine a chain of stories connected by a single character in each. I can also imagine a game based on the Home group during the same time period.

I really enjoyed this game! I really like how you made the smith's daughter grow up to be an adventurer just like she wanted to be in the first one. Great job.

I really appreciate the story that is game is trying to tell, but the controls for this game aren't very good. The dash function is extremely hard to control and made parts of the game unbearable. I suggest you work on that in future games you produce.

Oh my god...
I thought this was a game where you played as the previous protagonist but then it's like "What? Nah man. You're the girl that was saved by that dude y'know?" And then my mind was blown and I was super and happy :D

Who tf is downvoting everything that's not praise? This game has absolutely awful controls and a boring, predictable story that you have no control over. Not worth the time.

If you want to continue this series here some suggestions. it would be cool if your choises have consequences. like if you stay with Meredith you have more time to safe the girl but the fight against her will be harder because she knows you better and if you dont stay you will have more time to save her. also it would be nice to have achivements (you cleared the mine unharmed) or the possibility to save the girl in less/more time or don't save her.

I started playing this game. "Wait, this style seems familiar," I thought as my character stopped at the campfire. I figured out it was, in fact, very similar. Then, in the first mission collecting the herbs I recognized everything: the same girl, except older. Adventuring, like the character from the last one. Making a potion, because she helped with potions back when I was adventuring in the first game. I was so excited.
This game definitely did not disappoint.
((By the way, during the "fire" minigame, I didn't realize I could attack them with the sword. Since they weren't demons, I thought I just had to perpetually dodge them while leading them away from the girl so they don't accidentally hit her. It was so hard and I obviously failed the first time. Eventually I figured out the sword did something to the fireballs.))

What is up with these controls? J or left click? Why bother with arrow key controls if you're not going to map a left hand attack button, too? My game keeps losing focus because all I have is a touchpad and a j key, and the tap response on the touchpad isn't accurate enough to attack, but it sure is accurate enough that my wrist keeps hitting it while I mash the j key....

"Because she once saved me from the same sickness"
WAIT THIS IS THE SMITHS DAUGHTER? I DIDN'T SAW THAT COMING!
The girl I saved became so strong. I AM SO PROUD!

How can I resolve this?

Seriously excellent storytelling! I had missed your first game, and immediately went back and played it. Rarely in a game do you get so attached to characters, and I absolutely loved it! Any games in this series you make I can assure you will at least be getting one 5 star from me! Keep up the great work and I eagerly anticipate your future work!

@xM17UN4_C4P70Rx, theres only 2 gaps you need to dash jump to get to, try jumpin as far as you can before you dash. also, if your going to speek leet(|_337), at least go all the way with it and dont do it halfway.

I didn't realize that the main character was the smith's daughter so I named her a boys name. but amazing game though

Great game but i think the atmosphere of the first one was better. You add some actions but i thinks it was unnecessary. "Home" had more choices with "illusions" that they mater. And they were more time to get love the characters. It's a good addition to the first game but its lost the spirit of the first one i think. Great job anyway. You NEED to continue this serie ;)

I became too attached to the charaecters. (And died only twice on merideth's attack. I never died at all other than that.) and I wish i could do it all again like its my first time. This game is a game of beauty. (I played this one first. and played home after that.) please dont stop making games like these.
