For the next generation 3d graphics of course :)! Actually, we made most of this game in 48 hrs for the 2013 global game jam. The two programmers on this project knew Unity but not flash, so that's really why we used Unity.

That might be a good strategy if the randomizing agent yielded the end pieces oriented in the proper direction and that before the strategist bled out themselves. One might foresee a problem if the opponent attempts to use their own vessels in a blocking fashion, in which case he, she, or the ai would seem to have a strategic advantage. Given that a good offense is often said to be the best defense it might be advisable to employ a strategy of using end pieces when available, attempting to block the other players vessels when afforded the chance (the starting of the game might be an opportune time), and this while attempting to grow a single vessel system in an effort to gain the highest piece bonus. In either case I enjoyed the game play : )

The game is a nice mini game. The graphics, music and sound are ok. The game as such I don't quite get. Wouldnt be the best move to simply keep reshuffling until you get endpieces and then let the opponent bleed to death?
That can be a good idea in some cases. However, you win the game by having the most points, not necessarily the most blood. So if you cap off all your pieces early, your opponent has a chance to complete longer veins. Completed vein pieces count towards your total score at the end so you can win even if you are the first to run out of blood.
This game is primarily designed as a 2 player game, but if you are playing against the computer, your ultimate goal is to get the most points and compete with other players on the leaderboards.
