Kongregate has always been more than just a website. Since its very beginning, it has represented a community of gamers who enjoy great games almost as much as they enjoy the weird and quirky ones. The people who work behind the scenes to keep Kongregate and its mobile titles running are no exception either. As we bring our month-long 20th anniversary celebration to a close, we asked some of our current Kongregants to share their favorite Kongpanion and Kongregate.com game.

Gabriella — “Miss. HR”

Favorite Kongpanion: Polter Geist

“Polter Geist is my favorite because it's the cutest little ghost around! But Heather is my very very close second because Heather the Kongpanion and Heather the inspiration for the Kongpanion are both amazing <3”

Favorite Kongregate Game: Firestone Idle RPG

“I really like [idle] games. It's like a set it and forget it (for a few days) and you come back and you're not completely dead!”

Alysia — Supreme Overlord Commander (or Sr. LiveOps Manager)

Favorite Kongpanion: Jill

“If anything was Jill, it was a flamingo. Named after an actual real live person, who I love to this day - she was the embodiment of not letting anything get to you. Keep smiling, and legs on backwards. Fun fact - Most of the Kongpanions that suffer a human name are named after real life people!”

Favorite Kongregate Game: Spellstone

“Hands down. It has aged gracefully, is still a blast to play, and has one of the strongest communities I've ever known.”

Favorite Kongpanion: hotdog if there is one

“idk they're all pretty cute, if there's a hotdog one then that one because that sounds funny and adorable to me”

Good news, Jake. We have a hot dog, a hot dog dog, and a chilly dog Kongpanion

Favorite Kongregate Game: Canabalt

“Canabalt is an all-time classic for millennial flash gamers. I remember articles being written about this game. One of the first high quality infinite runners from before the tidal wave that inevitably came after.”

Dodgy — Community Manager

Favorite Kongpanion: Nikhil

“Pandas are sick!”

Favorite Kongregate Game: Animation Throwdown

“It basically has to be. But to be serious, it was the game I had played before joining Kongregate. A couple of friends and I picked it up the year it was released, and I played it on most of my train commutes.”

Favorite Kongpanion: Pebbles

“Of course I love the Little Alchemist one and was touched when I saw it added.”

Favorite Kongregate Game: Desktop Tower Defense

“The first game I played on Kongregate - close to 20 years ago!”

Senior Community and Marketing Manager

Favorite Kongpanion: Tusks

“an adorable take on a wooly mammoth”

Favorite Kongregate Game: Warfare Incorporated

“mirrors the formula that made 90's RTS games great”

Kirk — Director of Corporate Operations

Favorite Kongpanion: Unsurprisingly, "Kirk" the purple toucan

“Though not named for me, I have a deep appreciation for tropical birds like toucans and parrots. The color, the dignified expression, the inspiration for this Kongpanion; this is about as perfect a representative of me within the Kongregate org I could want...except actually being his namesake, ha!”

Favorite Kongregate Game: Tranzoovania

“Especially in this busy Hallowtide season, a cozy park manager wrapped like toffee in a frightfully appropriate theme is the perfect "kick back and relax" game to sink your fangs into on a cool Autumn evening. Add on some light morality choices and fun 3D pixel-bit character designs and you've got one of the most approachable and interesting titles to come out in recent years."

Joseph — QA Lead / Assistant Producer

Favorite Kongpanion: Cogs

“I played Kongregate for years in highschool and stuff. To think I would be affiliated with them now like this is pretty amazing. I think back then I had one of the starter Kongpanions, but I always liked the Cogs. Just a cute little one.”

Favorite Kongregate Game: City Siege 3: Jungle Siege

“There's so many I remember fondly: Bubble Tank series, Strike Force Heroes, the Thing-Thing / Madness Interactive series were so fun. But I think one that hits home was the City Siege series. I loved the physics and precision aiming. I don't recall which version I played last, but maybe it was Jungle. Definitely one of the games that sparked my initial fascination in games.”

Favorite Kongpanion: Samantha

“She looks just like my childhood dog, Lennie!”

Favorite Kongregate Game: Retro Bowl

“Who doesn't love living out their dream of playing and managing a football dynasty?!”

Austin “Adrian” Godfrey — Developer Community Manager

Favorite Kongpanion: Taro

“I love Taro partly because he reminds me of my long time spent living in Japan. But also because his cute lil' grin is my favorite Slack emoji.”

Favorite Kongregate Game: Underworld Idle

“Kongregate is still the home for the internet’s best idle games. I’ve always appreciated the idea of the genre, but Underworld Idle was the first to really hook me in. To date, it’s the only Kongregate.com game I’ve spent my own money on because I was playing it so much.”
