Including as before mentioned a better damage system - I think the key improvement is o be able to have a larger arm. As in your stock or rather army allows up to perhaps 16 (no more than 20) units. However you stick with a force of only 12 and the currency awarded, spend, reward stays the same. This allows the ability to hold a few extra units which are helpful in certain situations.

Lvl 10 Elite Cavalry, fully upgraded, with x3 fortify in a fortress dies in 1 hit to Orcish General with 900 hp and 11w/11a. I managed to kill him, but there's too much other stuff.
Leveling new troops on Champion campaign is almost impossible as lv1 dies to 1 successful attack of lv10 enemy. War Academy was much easier than campaign.
The game is very good and tactics on most maps are fun but too high damage multipliers, occasional 2 turns in a row and skill descriptions only in lvlup menu are major flaws.

Hard fail on the attack system...it ruined my enjoyment of playing such a cool game. Other than that I would say 5/5, but the attack system brought it down to 0/5. I hit 7 1's in a row and lost because of it.

This game sucks, the idea is ok but the game itself sucks, every option is totally wrong managed, even the zoom sucks at all costs. Doing always 1 damage when the enemy has 2-5 hp, YEAH SURE. fukk this.

enemy stopped taking the turn because it was confused as to what to do? in orcish capital level so after almost winning i have to restart and then relocate recources and level ups. an almost defeated army should do way less damage if not then they should be heros and not armies. show groups of people in the future show the arrows of each one hitting the other armiesand them falling all over the place and off the walls of forts and the like...

Oh come on guys, it's not THAT bad...
I'm not sure whether they have #2 on Kongregate yet, but having played it ahead of time a little bit, it is more balanced.

DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME! I mean, really, don't play this game! In the beginning it seems good and fair, and one can evolve troops and so on, but after a few missions it becomes unfair and unpredictable. The enemy always seems to get an extra turn, your troops do only 1 damage about 90% per battle and the best and most expensive troops die. For example: 95 health Heavy Cavalry dies, because 8 health Goblin archers do Supercritical hits two turns in a row ... this game sucks and no one should play it !

This is a good concept game, but the damage you deal really is a joke. And the extra turns seem to favor the opponent more than yourself. I also don't see a reason to upgrade my units' armor/weapon, because they all end up dying eventually anyways. And the spells that I can only use once a fight are kind of weak, considering. And what's initiative and morale? How does that affect anything? Why do we only have 25/30 turns to accomplish tasks...secondary objectives aren't even on my mind when I play this.

I was not a fan after one battle at the War academy. But after tasting a couple battles and unit purchasing/advancement on a campaign, I may be hooked. I'm getting definite Shining Force, FF tactics, Battle of Wesnoth, Master of Monsters vibes. Hope this gets good!

i noticed something interesting, if you attack the enemy unit from behind there's a higher chance of better damage (tested in war academy) most of the time 15~20 damage on normal attacks, my general did 228 damage on a critical (instant killing the enemy unit xd), not only i noticed the higher damage, but they also don't counter.
that really helped to avoid 1 damage attacks

I came here for the badges, sure. But i didn't expect to be so addicted to this type of game, these type of games, strategy or whatever you would prefer them to be called. I am not much of a fan of them, i tend to hate them. But this one was pretty good and addictive for a while, i enjoyed it. The graphics were pretty good in my opinion. And i loved the unit choices and enemies. Have 5/5 and a favourite from me

If you manage true strategy of the game you dont do that often 1 damage, try to flank enemies and dont prefer static combat

I have no idea why any upgrade system exists in this game when no matter how much you upgrade a unit, they have as good a chance to do 1 damage as a fresh bought unit has to do over 100. The randomness in this game is absolutely hideous and severely detracts from what could have been a good game, in theory.

This game is pretty hard because of the erratic nature of the damage system. However, I really enjoyed it because it requires a lot of strategy to complete the levels. I also liked that some levels required clearing enemies whereas others required capturing places within a limited number of turns, thus making the player have to play with different strategies. I found that the easiest way to beat the game was to have 10 catapults, the elf hero, and a elite bowman (10 movement). Catapults do have very high range and damage, elf hero can heal and has powerful range attack, elite bowman has very high movement and can capture cities easily. With these units and a little luck you can successfully tackle most objectives. If you need anymore help check out this guide -- http://www.kongregate.com/forums/3/topics/42560.

I like the game, but I'd suggest that maybe the other battles should be replayable in Campaign Mode, or, if that can already be done, how can it be done?

this is to kingofAthens, gamers dont give breaks, the consistency of the damage you do is so underwhelming when it comes down to the wire, imma break my damn labtop because i can get the last boss low then he just cant be damaged over.. ohh lets say 1 DAMAGE! .. poop game 3/5 ;)

unit hp should somehow affect damage, like when a 3 hp does like 45 dmg when your more well equipped and a higher level

good game, great way to spend a lot of hours, i am kind of against the random generation of dmg, but war is like that, sometimes they see ya comin sometimes they dont you know
