It was so easy that I could pop 2 Sherman's on the first mission that allows you to get me and a extra morter for fun which killed no one.

I thought they were easy I got the 20% less cost for all my guys after the sec missionn on hardened so I could easily get the 2 bazookas they I could do without it and get a machine gun and assault teams as well as excess riflemen.

lol this game gets stupidly hard when they start to spam tanks on the opposite side, you must get lucky and praise that the scripted AI doesnt spam all its tanks at once.

Got Hard achievement really fast.
Used points only on the two, rightmost colums. Faster, cheaper tanks and faster, cheaper units (it says that the upgrade makes only infantry cheaper, but it actually makes tanks cheaper, too).
Watch enemy side of the map. Send tanks on top or bottom lane, where enemy DOESN'T send bazookas. Get machine gun unit whenever you can. It only loses to more lucky machine gun unit... and tanks.
Keep sending basic infantry wherever you send the better units, so that the basic unit catches up, joins fights and is the one taking first hits.
For the hardest (imho) mission, the one where you fight tanks while not having one yourself, place machine gun on top cover, two bazookas on bottom and throw the riflemen on the middle lane. Restart until success (bazooka hit RNG).

I invested in the material tech tree: regreted it, on hardened difficulties, grenades almost never hit, the tanks are destroyed superfast and the mortar wasn't able to land a single shot

Like Rizky earlier, I didn't find the game fun at all. Doesn't seem strategic at all. Tried 8 different strategies and my guys just keep surviving for awhile to accomplish nothing. Then send in two stacks, they're annihilated in seconds. Are the guys limited to shooting in their lane? I guess I should have spent the 10 minutes in the tutorial - but wasn't worth it. graphics and concept are 4/5, gameplay was a 1/5.

I played on a recruit, and on lvl 1 the german just spawn a fkng tank straight forward. This game has some balance issues and insanely hard in a stupid way (there is a difference between the "good" hard game and the "stupid" hard game). 1914 was way better than this stupid game, and the "point" system was kind of stupid too. Not to mention that the German could spam airstrike every single time while I can't. Stupid imbalanced game.

improvement idea: specifically allow for a squad's worth of soldiers (ie 4) so you can put bazookas and mg30s behind the same cover (or sniper, mg30s, and officer...)

DONE. Hardened mode campaign without any upgrades. It is possible by spamming out rifles like no tomorrow. Occasional officer is helpful but not always needed. If the enemy tank is at a flank, IGNORE IT. Better to get flanked by a tank than losing so much against it.

the game saves broke so hard, like real hard i just can't even, mission 8 regular? no like misson 4 or something no upgrades or points, just broken so hard, likely corrupted you need a save reset function

Hard mod suck. Tactic 1 - Stay cover shooting incoming waves and wait for ennemy morale reach 0. Tactic 2 - Spamming infantry on a single line 'till the ennemy surrender.

If you're going to make the game balanced, don't do it in a cheap cop-out way that makes the player feel cheated. Exhibit A - enemy troops can gather in large numbers behind single cover objects, but the player's troops cannot. Totally arbitrary, especially since the original title allowed three squads to take the same cover at once. It would have been less squirrely to have large gatherings of troops cause a reduction in morale on either side, such that balance must be maintained for long-lasting use of cover. However, the introduction of lanes was a good move for this title, and allowed for some more complex mechanics and advanced tactics, even if the campaign is still too short to fully flesh those tactics out (yes, even considering half is unavailable!). I would also have liked to see a random battle feature. I give this game the rank of Lieutenant-General - three stars.

I was playing on Chrome and also couldn't get the mortar badge, so I tried switching to Firefox and got it on the first round that mortars become available.

Mortars are pretty OP. Went in immediately on hardest difficulty, spammed mortars and riflemen. Once a tank comes you want meat shields and a bazooka. They're by far the biggest test early, but once you have 2 mortars out they die easy.
Not very difficult at all. Failed maybe 2 earlier missions and then it was mortar heaven.

Having both "music" and "sound effects" muted, I should not still have any audio playing from this window. Mute means mute - no sound.

suggestions: 1) i dont think its a good idea to have another campaign only available on another website and blatantly show it to the players. the game should automatically start with the 'u.s. forces' and have some notification after a couple of levels saying 'there is more content of this game on ... site.' 2) i dont really get the 'move to this point' win condition. on the first level, my dudes took out the front guys, but then are stopping in front of and shooting basically nothing. it would be nice if i could control my characters to move towards the win condition. 3) i cant really find a strategy or tactics in this game. all i seem to be doing is clicking on a guy to deploy and randomly selecting an area for them. 1/5 sucks that half of the game is not available here and the gameplay is just not good.

Mortar team achieve does nto work for me either. I'm building all mortars to get there, and nothing.... Just like JulianB204 below the "under rating threshold" comments..

It would also be neat to have a lock ability like in 1917 so that troops will ignore cover I no longer need so I dont need to be constantly babysitting units miles back from the frontlines
