@karserus They took what they knew about mutants, and created a giant, nearly unstoppable one that spits out smaller mutants... I don't think they were trying to save the world. If they were, they were really taking the Umbrella approach to it.

This game was very well designed. I could tell how hard you worked on getting all of the jumps "just right", and I was able to progress well without getting "too" lost. I did feel like the jumping was a little sticky, but that might be my keyboard. The BEST part of the game by far was the "?" button. I thought it would take me to a video tutorial, but instead it told me exactly what I needed to do! Great job including that! 5/5

To think how much trouble, death and destruction they could have saved by offering to house the girl and her dad in the facility in exchange for the occasional blood or tissue sample.

Amazing game. I was thinking about playing metroid or something earlier then stumbled upon this and it filled that void. I love the map design how everything just flows into each area so nicely so not alot of time is wasted running backwards.
Awesome game

DEVELOPER SECRET HIDEOUT: from the house, head upwards until you are at the infected village. head east and there are some girders in a small cluster. climb up the girders, and you can see a place where you can walljump. Head up and to the right to find the secret hideout! + so everyone can see

"That creature looks very toxic. I have to make sure to not touch it when I kill it or evade it alltogether." *fist to the face* "Works, I guess."

Lovely game. I enjoyed the fact that you have to actually think how to damage the bosses instead of simply shooting at them. One thing you could have put tho was some background story maybe like collectables, how the pollution started, diseases, etc. Anyway pretty cool! :)

I think that the enemy gunners are actually stronger than the final boss. On the one hand you have a guy that shoots precisely at you no matter where you are and can avoid bullets even after they are shot (!!), on the other hand you have a big pack of slime that lets you pass trough its mouth without even trying to eat you, and that goes down very easily once you've figured out how to use the switches. Seriously, the camouflage gunner should be the final boss ;)

"I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you."

huh. if you pause the game during the boss fight with the think that jumps on the ceiling and horks snot that tracks your position, his projectiles continue moving and dissipate. and don't hit you.

When you fight the ceiling walking spitting locked-room boss, pausing makes the spit vanish. I assume this is a flaw as it makes it much easier.

Great game! It's not often that I find myself finishing such a simple game, but you guys kept me engaged through the whole thing, great work!
Your little "developer hideout" was a pretty nice touch! Also, the part where you save the girl's dad from the cage in exchange for him teaching you to fight, and you end up saving him by practicing on the chain holding up the cage, hilariously convenient, loved it.

Strictly speaking, the right thing to do when somebody develops a mysterious immunity to a plague or environmental condition would be to study them, yes, but also to let that person survive to have as many children as possible. An inherited immunity may be the best chance for humanity in such a scenario.

Oh, goodness. When he said "The ends don't justify the means," I was CERTAIN Lily was turned into that Prisoner X thing. So glad the ending wasn't so tragic. :) Wonderful game, from the music to the controls and story, and I LOVED that the help button was help, and not a walkthrough. :) Kept me engaged for at least an hour. 5/5 and favorite from me.

When I saw the first girl who lost her father, I thought she was the protagonist's daughter but somehow neither could recognise the other. It sent chills down my spine, and the story just got a lot more interesting. Later I was both relieved and disappointed to find out that the author was just using the same sprite for multiple characters.
It's a nice game overall. 4/5

So the scientists need one person to save the entire world, and you kill them all for that one person. Talk about egocentrism
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
obviously, when the world ends developers will be surviving aloof, (and in way better visual quality) from all others in a hideout

Great Design. Also deserves 6/5 for having the first really helpful Helpbutton *ever*, that doesn't destroy the game flow.
