For those curious about how to play this with SuperNova SWF Enabler plug-in, use this address provided below by copying the entirety of it and pasting it onto the address bar at the top of your browser to ensure that it bypasses the ‘GameShell’ issue that have plagued many earlier games of Kongregate: supernova://play/?swfurl=https://chat.kongregate.com/gamez/0012/9497/live/LRD2.swf?kongregate_game_version=1321432633 Make sure that your latest installation of SuperNova works correctly, as it will not function if it cannot load games that can work fine without this bypassing of the SWF files here (Used Google Chrome dev tools to get the link).

Demonic path is OP especially the disease spell. Makes enemies unable to cast spells while you can cast whatever you want, and the path even included life steal attacks that heal you pretty good.

The funniest thing about this game, aside from Lethal's name and Lethal's sword's name, is that every time he fights, he's like, "Okay, if you leave, I won't kill you." And then they fight him anyway. It's just hilarious to me.

Quite a long game. Good amount of content. I enjoyed getting to use different tactics, but the battle system got repetitive for me. There were some typos, but the point got across. Someone else mentioned having a way to see what spells were still in play and I agree with them. I didn't struggle too much though because I went with the Mage branch for spell access and then Demonic powers for the enemy debuffs and stat upgrades. Thanks for the time!

Thanks Tandu, I thought I had conquered everything. Not sure what I'm missing. Do I have to get all the upgrades and spells before I get to Dark Forces island?

TransferSe In the skill menu click one of the spells you'll never use again and then click the spell you want to replace it with.

I realize a game from 2011 will never be updated, but... damn it's frustrating to save up 40 skill points to learn the final spell in a tree and ... it doesn't get added because the skill bar is full and there doesn't appear to be a way to remove spells I'll never use again.

This is so repetitive, my brain is starting to bleed. Why are there so many forced encounters?! I can defeat them easily, let me skip to the damn boss or at least give me some plot!!!!!!!

I'm alittle unsure what others mean when it comes to the excessive grind, i've had to do alittle grind at the beginning, sure, but then i got Silence and Leech. "Silence, Sword, Leech. Sword, Sword, Leech. Repeat." Was my strategy for a long time until I got the death spell - dealing some hundreds above 1000 damage even when it DOESN'T instantly kill the foe. Atm, i'm in Peptidia with one of the tournaments won, and my strategies remain mostly unchanged - except for the additions of the Death spell and occasionally a potion (of which i've now bought a ton.) If anything, I think my strategy is perhaps broken. For the sieges, once you get the catapults it's just a game of "Shoot 2 catapults at the fortress till it dies while having 1 army fight another army cause you HAVE to use your 3 moves. Btw, the enemy gets 4 moves, not that it matters because the Catapult vs Fortress strat is OP.) TL;DR: Demonic Path + Catapults = OP maybe broken strat.

This game has some good ideas, but the length of the game is far too much for the strength of the involved mechanics. This game is 9 years old, and I hope that the developer has continued on with game creation because of the promise this shows. Am I likely to replay this? No, it was more of a slog than anything to get all the badges, but nothing about it was particularly objectionable.

To win the third tournament where the last enemy being a dragon uses permanent regeneration, keep spamming beat down and only replenish mp when necessary. Its health will stay down this way.

My load profile simply won't load?? Level 39 and force closed tab when I encountered a weird bug when trying to fight in the tournament. Now I'm just locked out. I can make new save files, but this one remains locked. Help?:)

Finally finished the game after literally 6 hours of pure grind. When you get to the final boss it's not even interesting because you've cleared like 500 levels, so you're so strong you two-hit the last boss... Let me change my rating from 2/5 to 1/5 because after getting the final badge I didn't get any sort of relief, I just feel dirty and like I could've spent those 8 hours better literally staring at a wall.

Too bad that from early mid game it's all about silence-spell-spell and as soon as you get shrine blue print you kill everyone in one battleround (two for bosses)...

damn i played it yesterday for the badge and i started with a demon spec, but i'm gonna play it all over with the 2 other specs :D
loved it a lot

This game should've had a single island. It's an endless grind that consists of multiple hours of clicking your strongest attack over and over again going from enemy to enemy. The enemies are not diverse, meaning you won't actually get any use of abilities like silence and various buffs with the exception of a few bosses and tournaments, but these are far away from the majority. I have no idea how this got badged. 2/5

(hard badges guide pt 2)
For souls, don't bother upgrading anything other than your sword. It's pretty pointless, especially after getting silence, and more attack generally gives you more bang for your buck.
At the last island, Dark Force, you're able to pick up a recipe for a Shrine (head south at 1st branching path) which boosts your damage by 10% PER SHRINE for 5k gold. Once you get the recipe, go back to the other islands and build shrines on every spot you can besides the build spots for catapult and ships. After building shrines, my damage jumped from about 2.5k to 10k with my strongest attack (Beat Down - Knight tree)

To get the hard badges, silence/disease (both Demonic tree) is your best friend. It lasts 2 full turns, so cast it on your first move ie. Turn 1- a) silence, b) any, c) any; Turn 2 - a) any, b) any, c) any; Turn 3 - a) silence, b) any, c) any, and so on.
For sieges, once you are able to make catapults, do so and equip 2 of them. Instead of using your frontline (soldiers/cavalry), use 2 'moves' on the catapult directly to the castle, and one frontline to frontline. Killing the castle ends the siege quicker.
For the tournaments, you can use a similar strategy for fighting normal battles, but watch your mp consumption against enemies with higher hp.

I think this game could be epic with the experience youve gained in the 9 years since its release man, i insist for a remaster in UNITY or some sort... It's such a master piece

To those looking to beat the game, the combination of silent (cast every other turn) and the advanced full-fight regen trivialize even the final boss. Helluva a grind, though. I was level 44 at the end.

Is it just me, or are sometimes the 'crit' areas or whatever stupidly hard to hit? Like, one time it was literally just a black line, as if to say, "Yeah, try to hit the crit area dummy! Muahahaha..." Another time it was just a sliver of a white line .-.

Ah yes the classic siege technique take the very low to the ground ram and hit the catapult on the top of the much taller walls this is a perfectly sane and possible move that will definitely work

Here's what worked for me:
Souls: 1 Enemy Kill= 1 Soul. Spend them for Weapon Upgrade (also affects Magic Dmg)
Talent Tree: Demon. Enemy killing: Disease (you actually dont want to get silenced so you can keep using spells) + Death / Boss Killing:Disease, Curse,Cripple, Death, (Shield, Death,Cripple,Death etc.)
Sieges: 2x Soldiers, 2x Catapults +Dragon (when unlocked) Go for the building not the troops. There is no need to spend building slots for other troops than those. Save them for Shrines (+Dmg) later on, till then go for markets and towns.
Talents: Magic skill training (Demon and Mage tree), Blood Siphon, Undead Feed (HP Drain spells for survivabilty), Mage Shields and Healings.
Make sure to equip armors from Tournaments in Gasho island.
I really enjoyed the storyline. I would like to have a speed up option though. The game is not difficult but time consuming.

Nine years old or not, this game probably holds a record for most bad design decisions ever crammed into a game. When you attack, sometimes you can't attack at full power because the timing bar is just a sliver wide. If you try to heal with a potion when you've taken 201 damage, you automatically use an expensive 500 HP potion instead, which is a ridiculous waste. Or you may make the reasonable decision to hold off on healing while you're at 80% health, and the enemy randomly uses a spell that knocks you down to 5%, before finishing you off. Not to mention all the forced grinding you have to do just to even stand a shot at surviving the boss battles.

@death98796 - It's more that people expect some quality-of-life changes. Even games this old would think about features like seeing what buffs and debuffs you and your enemy has or seeing how much a spell costs on the skill tree screen. These aren't exactly cutting-edge features.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Silence is OP as hell, especially combined with Regeneration II. If you keep your opponent under silence permanently (cast silence every second turn), they can never heal nor deal significant damage, so you can just whale on them with impunity.
