I really enjoyed this game. And I really enjoyed the concept. Seeing the young Viktor's gave so much more depth to their corresponding adult character, and I genuinely didn't want them to die, so when they did, I felt something. Loved it!

What a cute and simultaneously kind of depressing idea ;-). I liked it! Gave it 5 stars! Make a sequel soon... slightly longer and more involved!

And Viktor the tenth, makes it. The only bad things about the game are the "forced" deaths (pit with no escape with spikes) and the time limit. Seriously, a year goes by in a couple of seconds, now?
Aside from this problems, keep up the good work, Mr. Developer.

After reaching adulthood, the vikings of the Viktor Clan can go thirty years without food, water or rest. It is believed they accomplish this feat by the extreme pacing of their actions, even simple tasks such as swinging their hammer taking a good part of a year.

"I won't die like the other, I will be different" said confidently Viktor the eighteenth. And he was right: he was the first one to be killed by a snowball.

The only thing I didn't like were the required deaths. Viktor The I made it all the way to the point that he still had 10 years and was trapped in a hole with spikes. I was upset that I had to kill myself just for being so successful.

An elderly Viktor XV made it to the Promised Land...
Love the gameplay, the music, and the concept!! (In real life, I am actually the 5th in a line of men with the same first name.) Also appreciated what I perceived to be a tribute to the Vikings' multigenerational voyage to the British Isles, Iceland, Greenland, and eventually, the arable Vinland.

And to think it all would've been for nothing if somewhere along the line one of the Viktors said "I don't wanna grow up to find the promised land like Daddy! I wanna be a baker!"

took me 18 victors, would've been less but i made a lot of stupid mistakes lol but great game i really loved it :D i like how some of them must trap themselves so that future victors may go on. 5/5

Viktor XI made it through for me. I actually had a tug when I hit big buttons and realized that it was the end for that VIktor. Kinda gave a 'speech' to the next one going 'Viktor the nth, the xth opened the path with his life for you. Do him proud!' Anyone else, or am I just crazy?

Viktor, my child, I write this letter, though you will never read it and this is the best part. LOL. I'm gonna have some heavy parties here and care not about you, as I have no more time to get back and tell you how to come here.
Cheers,
Father.

Okay, it took eight viktors, and its nothing to do with rogue legacy, other than the generation gimmick. Its nice though, well made. My poor son just left behind, generation after generation :(

Viktor my child, I have buggered off to somewhere nice and warm and left you in the cold. Here's a letter to rub it in your face.
P.S. You can come too if you survive, if not say "hi" to your dead ancestors for me.
Yours distantly and warmly (suck it, son),
Viktor the MCMXCVIII

All though the very first thing before embarking to the journey of generations to promised land Viktor I did was an attempt to murder his own son with his hammer, the line of Viktors never gave up on the goal their ancestors set and finally made in to the promised land.

I like that the kid waving goodbye, has the next generation hair color, but the best thing is that when you complete the game, then you've left your son back there XD

Did it occur to anyone else that the (technically second-to-last, considering that he's already named his son) Viktor has to go back over the mountain to get his kid (and presumably the rest of his family) or they'll just assume he died like all of his ancestors? Then a third time to get back to the warmer lands. Poor Viktor.
Also, my second playthrough, I got through with only two years left on Viktor the 9th.

Great game, I would've liked being able to place a checkpoint or something but i guess that takes away from the game a bit :P

very beautiful. I like the color changing beards each generation and that you can see the boy at the beginning (and looking at him let's you know, which color the next generations beard will have)
It is really nice that you noticed that the boy grows up to be the next generation Viktor. We enjoyed working on these details but we weren't sure whether or not someone would notice. Thank you!

Viktor the twentieth made it through.
In general, pretty nice. A few of the deaths were kinda cheap - spikes so close that you're right on top of them when you fall from above, and you'll have to pass by them at least three times so you'll probably forget 'em before the last time you go through. That kind of thing. But it was a great concept in general and pretty well executed, so I'm going to go 5/5 here. One critique - every time we restart, the music (which was nice the first time I heard it) restarts. Not normally an issue but this game is built around restarting. Give us a couple different tracks, perhaps matched to different hair colors or something?
Thank you very much for the feedback! We will talk to our composer and see if we can add a couple of new tracks. Regarding the cheap deaths you mentioned, we are working on a way to address this problem.

By the time Viktor the XVIIIth made it through, he could have taken the bus. :/ BUt seriously, this game doesnt take more than 15 to 20 minutes to complete, and the levels dont reset between death. Very novel take on the whole 'lives' system. 5/5
It is great that you enjoyed it =)
The concept was born at Global Game Jam 2012, in which the theme was the picture of Ouroboros (the snake that eats it's own tail).

I actually completed this game and it was very long and kind've tedious at times, but it killed a bit of time and made me happy, lol. 5/5

While I usually enjoy puzzles the lack of info about bad guys and the amount of times i died from simply not realising about throwing goblins and spikes on the floor. I gave up. I'm sure if you have patience it's a good game but not I.
