I'm beginning to suspect I'm some sort of Tom Thumb-sized midget flying a model airplane. I mean let's face it, there are helicopters and trees like 100 times my size and I can fly through logs.

I can't really distinguish between shots fired by an enemy and exp. There is just a big cloud of colorful things coming up.

Cool game. I like how you can customize your weapons and the weapon angle. That's a nice touch that makes a big difference on some of the levels. Upgrade system seems to follow a very common trend on Kongregate, where the best strategy is just to save up for the best stuff and ignore everything else. And that strategy works because you can replay levels, so the game becomes kind of easy because of that.
My biggest gripe is the randomness of the bosses, in particular the final boss and the special weapon dragon. Randomness is good to keep you on your toes, don't get me wrong, but the way it was done, sometimes you have them firing off multiple of those powerful purple all-directional shooters and it is literally impossible to avoid getting hit. So you just replay until luck works in your favor... Other than that, this game is fun. :)

In the hopes the developer sees this. I play using 'wsad/kl' and I am unable to climb while firing and moving forwards or backwards at the same time. W+D+K or W+A+K do not work while S+A+K and S+D+K do work.
Very fun game overall.

I'm a tad confused at the ranking system (bronze, silver, gold, platinum) I can do lv 3.0 and barely lose any health, but only get silver. On the other hand i do lv 4.0 and lose almost all of my health and still get a platinum. Anyone have any explanation?

easy 2-2,
1. Kill the 1st form.
2. As SOON as the dragon emerges hit PAUSE.
3. Wait for its health to fill up.
4. Unpause.
VOILA! target practice :D

So wait, a meteor crashed into the base, military weapons were used on the aliens on the base, then it was nuked, yet when you fly over it, the buildings are still intact. What are those buildings made of?!

This game have the feeling of great old 90s DOS games, the intro, the music.... And is the best intro I ever saw on a flash game.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Really awesome game. I loved the intro. The art was amazing. There were a few flaws in the story line, but no big deal. I liked the weapons but didnt really understand what angle variation upgrades did. And I think a speed upgrade on the planes would be nice
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The storyline would be incredibly awesome if the developer had put in all the discrepancys mentioned by several comments into the game itself ( like: In the intro: "...you are our last hope to destroy the evil force as our national budget, wracked by the recent financial crisis, isn't rich enough to hire another pilot!" or sth)

nice game. has a good range of difficulties for everyone. its not too short. the upgrade system is okay imo. the first lvls are more difficult because you are saving money and exp for one-hit-max-outs. the story needs more work. it seems like the game was ready and someone reminded: "what about a story?" - "oh right lets do that fast so we can upload it finally."

For some reason I always freeze on the fourth mission after completing it, have to restart it, and says I've never finished the mission. Meh, game was pretty good so far.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Game play is good, but the story is pretty awful. A nuclear blast isn't going to kill ground zero targets with radiation. It's hotter than the sun and doesn't just melt rock, but turns it to ash.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Reloading, I lost my progress.. same issue as Volabit, locked on the 4th mission with no credit. I'm not going to run through that mission again after having done it perfectly.

Beating the boss at the end of level 4 dumps me back to the level selection screen but without any labels or menus around.

answer me this: why in the hell is a modern basis fighter craft flying at 3 mph, and HOW in the hell it got it's slow ass off the ground
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
how is everything still standing? A nuke was detonated there, the heat alone should've vaporized everything... the radiation is more of a nasty punch in the balls afterwards. This game's nukes are terrible!

A dragon. A dragon from an alien race that parasiticly took over a human base. THAT CONTROLLED A TANK. WHOS HAIRBALLS SHOOT FIREBALLS AT YOUR SHIP AND CRAPS LASERS. A DRAGON.

I absolutely hate the plot. After watching the exposition, I nearly cringed at all the flaws in the logic of the game. I enjoyed the game, but the plot was pathetic. The asteroid's nonexistent shock, which would have destroyed a massive area and the bullet-proof aliens that we kill with the same ammunition that they're invincible against. The nuke doesn't wipe out everything near the base along with the base itself, we take the long way to the base that remained intact after an asteroid and a nuke, and to top it all off, why do we kill the boss with bullets that shouldn't effect him at all before using the poison that will inevitably kill the boss?

Great game...however how is it that the aliens can't get past a single (wooden) watch tower when they can shoot a highly manuverable aircraft out of the air with a big flamethrower.....hmmm....WOODEN watch tower...FLAMEthrower....it seems that even though these aliens, having figured out interplanetary travel they can't manage to put 2 and 2 together

Spent all this time Platinum ranking every level and unlocking every ship, gadget, and weapon and upgrading them just for shits and giggles. Then game crashes immediately after level 4. This is an incredibly disappointing bug in an otherwise good game. Other people have experienced the crashing as well. Please fix soon?

not that I don't like the game play or upgrades, but it's called "Parasite" Strike, right? Did anyone else only see 5 or 6 parasites the whole game? I killed a billion helicopters and jets though. Let's call it Helicopter and Jet Strike instead. Love the Nobel-prize-winning-scientist-slash-ace-fighter-pilot thing too. Anyone else want to smack the smirk off that guy? And a dragon? Really? Can't get 5 stars if the story makes no sense. BTW, there are some "sweet spots" in your boss fights where you can sit, fire away, and never get hit by anything significant.

Aside from the obvious hilarity of the story, I have one major beef with the gameplay: Games like this work and worked in the past because perception is not required to have a chance.
If the player has a second to evade a hail of bullets, and he doesn't happen to be a single pixel that by coincidence carries the frame of an aircraft around with him, than it kinda sucks if next to those bullets, he's fly through tons of various, moving, colorful bubbles that he actually has to hit instead of evade. The Bullets in this game are very hard to distinguish from the resources you have to collect, and they are hard to make out in front of the screen as well.
The upgrade system, on the other hand, is nice.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Nice upgrade system but weapon prices are WAY too low and EXP costs are also very low. Bosses are relatively easy, their patterns have HUGE gaps in them. Previously stated issues with the storyline are valid, how come we can kill it now? Polish it up before uploading next time and you will get much better reviews. It has great potential but seems like it is in the play testing stage.

1- ok tutorial... seems easy...
LEVEL 1- OMGGGGGGGGGG SO HARD AAAAAAAA
2- yes... as you see im the only person in a world of 6,7 thousand million who can fly a plane.
3- general: YES YOU the scientific... you are the best for flying a plane and also because my super ultra trained soldiers arenr good enough to fly and drop a bomb. btw you will have to go alone and kill moreless 1000 planes that shoot 5 bullet per second.. when you destroy those 1000 planes go and throw a poison that i can throw in a bomb but i dont want.
4-WHY do alines know how to use tanks and planes but in the story the only ones that get close to the cities and all are walkers?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Angle variation? As in the higher it is, the less I have to move around? Why would I ever spend my hard earned experience points to get RID of that?

step 1: tutorial. Step 2: homing missles. Step 3: victory!
Secrets: l2, dont go in cave, go through tree. L3, about 2/3rds of the way through you can go up a tunnel. L3.1, there is a small hole with a gate in it. L4, there is a dirt covered bunker with a door you can destroy and go in.

i liked it, only requests, if we're forced to have bombs, how about some options for more types of them, the gadget that turns them into clusters is nice, but how about some more, mouse control would be nice, keyboard is either to sensitive, or not enough. and really, any shooting game should be autofire anyways w/o having to hold a key down just to shoot, but i loved the game, please make a sequel that's longer!
