Another reason why the turn system is stupid is because of new players. It's IMPOSSIBLE for new players to catch up with veterans without paying money for more turns. Where's your goddamn balance now?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
How about stupid? Unfair? Contradictory? Hypocritical?
It's hard to sum up my extreme hatred for these people in a single word, really.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
For lack of a better word. How about ripoff?
It's just stupid how they back up the turn system by saying that it balances things out and makes the game fair to more casual players by limiting players that would otherwise play day in and day out, then they go and offer deals that cost real money to break the system and contradict everything they said about the turn system. It's broken, unbalanced, and unfair.
All I really want is for them to admit that the turn based system is total bullcrap when they just go and offer an opportunity to break it if the player gives them money.

It's not a scam, Obeliskos, it's business, just like every other pay-to-play game out there. In fact, it's better than others which are only pay to play, because it offers something for free. A scam requires deceit.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
And again, THERE'S NO GOOD REASON TO HAVE A TURN SYSTEM IF THEY OFFER PLAYERS TO BREAK THE WHOLE CONCEPT BY PAYING MONEY. IT'S A CHEAP GIMMICK TO GET PEOPLE TO PLAY. IT'S NOT TO REGULATE TIME SPENT. IT'S NOT TO BALANCE THINGS OUT. IT'S A SCAM.
Enjoy your awful game.

I shouldn't have to go off and play another game or knick a goddamn sweater because developers seem to be stuck in the mindset that turn regeneration is a good idea. Besides, I'd have to wait a full 24 hours just to get 12 turns, which amounts to probably 2 minutes of playtime. Not balanced at all. Completely ridiculous.
And it doesn't matter how old I am, I don't want to waste the money I work hard to get on a mediocre flash game. Don't say I'm a kid because I don't want to waste my hard earned money.

This game seems like a revamped version of Monster's Den. Great graphics, the gameplay is awesome, and I love the fact that it is meant to be a casual game. The turn system is a little bit annoying, but I've actually gotten used to it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
And an earlier comment said you can use EYE ARR ELL moneys to buy more turns. WHAT THE HELL. You can't limit players claiming that "without the turn system,... it would end up being whoever plays day and night becomes the most successful", THEN OFFER MORE TURNS THROUGH SPENDING REAL MONEY. IF PEOPLE ARE RETARDED ENOUGH TO DO THAT, THEN THE WHOLE SYSTEM IS COMPLETELY NULL AND VOID. THE BALANCE IS BROKEN. STUPID RICH PEOPLE EMPTY THEIR WALLETS TO GET AHEAD OF LEVELHEADED PLAYERS.
THINK NEXT TIME. REMOVE THE TURN REGENERATION SYSTEM, OR SPEED IT THE HELL UP AND DON'T OFFER MORE TURNS FOR REAL MONEY.

This game looks fantastic and I would love the hell out of it if it wasn't for the incredibly slow turn recovery system. Having a number of turns is BEARABLE. It usually drives me away from most games, but I can live with it if the game is good enough. INCREASE THE GODDAMN TURN REGENERATION.
I just hope you realize that the slow turn regeneration is the dominant reason this game doesn't have a 4/5 or more. You have most likely cheated yourself out of the weekly prize and a massive praise. Congratulations.

A new turn every 2 hours? Fail. A lot of web games like Kingdom of Loathing suffer from the curse of having a limited amount of turns, but at least you get like, 50 every day and can restore turns by eating food. But in this game, you apparently have to wait 100 hours (about 4 days) to get that very same amount of turns. I read the FAQ topic "Why are there turns" and I think DO agree with the casual thing. BUT ONE TURN EVERY 2 HOURS IS RIDICULOUS. And I assume you can't recover turns ANY OTHER WAY can you?

it a very good game. but people will onlt like it if you remove the counter system. and i couldent play it on you web site!!!!

Hmm wait and come back later to have more turns??? Ya..ok...or maybe I'll just go play Monster's Den or Sonny instead....
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This is the game that could have been, save for some greed. Too Bad also, went from a 5/5 (and probably a Kong weekly prize) to a 2/5.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
nevermind I largely miscaculated I would have had 3600 turns so I would have had to wait many months. Either way I'll just wait for the next RPG style quest and play that one. Again hopefully this one fails miserably. Thank goodness we have developers who do make great games with awesome depth out there, such as the guys who made gemcraft. So let me give a shoutout from everyone to the guys who made gemcraft. You guys rule! and well this piss poor game sucks the ol-mighty onion nuts.

Well I came back just to see how many turns you get per hour. And its been about 12 hours since I played and I now have 5 turns. So my guess is you may get 1 turn every 2 hours. Which should give me about 5 minutes of playing time. So I think what I;ll do is let my turns save up over the course of maybe a year. At that point I should have around 600 turns to play with which could give me a whole day of playing. But considering how deep I hear the game is that probally wont even be enough to finish the game. So nevermind I talked myself out of it. I wont waste another second on this game and just so I can take a gut shot at the developer. In the year that most of us would have to save up to have any hope of spending valuable time on this game, there will probally be lots of similiar games that are superior and more importantly user friendly. So the developer can suck a big one. I wish nothing but the worst for your hopes of becoming a millionaire on this slightly above average game.

Encountering monsters takes one turn equals 1/5, I hope you die etc., even better yet, I hope your family goes with you and any sponsors realise that you should be paying them.
Flash games are supposed to be free entertainment. A turn/2hours doesn't do that. If you had a turn/10minutes, well, it could probably do.. barely.

It is a good game it really is. Unfortunately they want to turn it in to a more direct money making exercise than simple ad revenue. If you go to there site they sell "coins" which can be used to buy things including turns. Not cool man. Ditch the multiplayer function and the meta turn system and you have a great flash game that will generate tons of ad revenue. Should be 5/5 gets a 1/5.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I get the tick based gameplay, I really do, but few if any people here on Kongregate are looking for a "commitment" with a flash game. 2/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
also you can probally play about 20 minutes with the turns they give you and probally less if the tutorial didn't take so long.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
well i have to agree with the rest of the people. awesome game but I wish I would have known exactly what everyone meant when they said there was a turn limit and I wouldn't have even wasted my time. So I will explain for those that read the comments before they play. Basically you get to play the game which is cool but you only have like 20 turns and then it stops you from playing anymore and says you have reached your turn limit, come back later when you have more turns. It also states turns build up over time, does anyone know how long it takes to build up. My guess is something like 1 turn an hour but if anyone knows the exact amount it would be really helpful. So I agree with everyone easy 5/5 but it gets a 1/5 for basically being unplayable and has seen the last of me.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Waiting for turns took this from an easy 5/5 to a 2/5. Really cool stuff, but screw it if it doesn't want me to play for more than a short amount of time.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
its a demo and demo's are like realy bad unless it is in beta testing or just a sneck peck but this is like a demo to make you join there multi player game

Hm game seemed to freeze. I just leveled to lvl 2. There's a chest sitting on the screen but I can't click open. I gave my character the skill points he earned but can't do anything else. Its still in the tutorial but it's just sitting there.....

This would be one of my favorite flash games, if you removed/lessened the turn regenerate time... Whatever that was meant to achieve i don't know, but noone here really likes it. This could top the charts easy, and win you some money, but that feature is keeping it from doing that.
Otherwise, this game is amazing, thank you very much
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It takes me back, think I will pick up some old games tonite. It has some good qualities, good backgrounds, many of the classes look unique, reminds me more of a platform game than a flash. 5/5 However, the turn system...yeah that has to go, why do I have to wait to play? If the full addition doesn't have this feature than it would be a good, fun game. Since this is what it has now, I will only give a 1/5, as I do all demo type games that land here.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
wtf, my turn count decreases every round of combat. it decreases everytime i heal. and i should regain around 6-8 points over night. anyone see what is wrong with that.
note to developers: decrease the time points take to respawn. more points = more people playing, and since kongregate gives the developers some of the add money, more time+ more profits for you. so a half an hour for a point would let people play longer while still keeping whatever the time counter was ment to achive.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
My 5 star rating was changed to 1 star as soon as I realized I would have to wait 2 hours per turn point. Attention game creators! Stop trying to regulate how I spend my time.

why does the name of caracters have to not be taken? it would make it a lot less of a hassle to create a new caracter.
