I will say this, however: there is MUCH room for improvement with the AI. Simple things, like: when afflicted with xenophobia, the AI should not try to summon creatures, but rather discard them. The AI should not play dispel if the player has nothing to dispel. The AI should not use doppelganger to copy the player's 0/0 power (unless it's to remove a powerful taint). A few simple AI rules to deal with a handful of specific situations would make the AI much more challenging.

This game (the core game, at least... I've not gotten to the challenges) is surprisingly good. It must be difficult to design a card game that is truly different than Magic: The Gathering, but that is as worth playing. This game IS truly different, and what makes it interesting is that the differences seem justified--they're not there just *to be different*--they actually add to the game dynamic.

I too also have lots of trouble with the challenges but the game was fun and I look forward for more. + if you agree.

I love this game. I'm a huge fan of Lovecraft, and the ideas are well-implemented. Challenge mods are a pain, but some degree of unpredictability is good. I want more!

I must say, I've been playing this game since it came out and I keep coming back to play. It just reinforces my 5/5 rating.

this game is pretty sweet but the thing that brings it down to 4/5 for me is the challenges. So luck based that its not fun its stupid, you just keep playing till the cards happen to fall in your favor. Major downer to a great game

Is it just me, or does anyone else go at little insane just by playing this? not doing the challenges just doing the main game.

This game is so addictive and uniue. It has its on style of card games and i dont usulay play games like this but its awsome 5/5

i killed someone by going insane getting taint and arcane, removing taint, gaining more arcane and doing damage with arcane =)

Damn I hate this game. It's like 3am and I gotta go up tomorow, still playing this game. Make it less addicting... -.-

Finally... over 12 hours spent on the challenges... no challenge involved, just a luck-fest. Last time....... f*ck...This...Game....

AI starts with the best cards every time in Challenge 2. Every heal card. The 14 dmg card, it has it. Every. Single. Time. You buffing your Elder? AI has the debuff card. F*ck this game yet again.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Random cards missing from Challenge 2. The 12 dmg one, every insanity card, plus a peppering of other random cards. Don't know why.

man, quit ur complaining. Its not rigged, it just has too much luck in it. I tried each challenge about 10000 times b4 i beat them all. The challenges arent hard, its just a matter about how lucky u are.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I now conclude that the Challenges are rigged. The computer always begins with the same f*cking cards. There's no other way to explain how game after game after game... he always pulls out the 14 + arcane card, or the Hound of Tindalos, or the best 10 atk pet... every f*cking time.

Also, the City of R'lyeh will 75% of the time cause Xenophobia, which is only barely useful. 20% of the time, your enemy gets Schizophrenia, which is only mildly useful as well. You will only once in a blue f*cking moon get the only useful craziness, Megalomania. Which of course can also be your downfall if they stack up a ton of arcane and use a single attack that adds your arcane. But it's also the only craziness that can bring your enemy to 1 hp in 4-5 turns.

................WHENEVER...... You FINALLY f*cking get..... the City of R'lyeh card... takes about 30+ retries to get it........the ONLY thing that allows you to have a 0.01% chance of actually beating any challenge........................... Your enemy will have at LEAST 3 attack cards..... the BEST one (14+Arcane), the 2nd best one (12+arcane), and at least a +5 BYPASS EVERY DEFENSE card.
Every time.

I do not joke. It will take THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of tries to beat all of the challenges. The game is rigged to disillusion any of your ideas of 'skill'. You are not good at this game. It's completely based on chance. I mean, might as well just have a big, shiny button in the middle of the screen that you press a few thousand times and eventually, you get a badge.

God, Challenge 15 is insane... 5 health, no Essence of Life or good healing cards... You get 1-shot killed about 1 in 3 times...
*Prays for a full deck of Mi Go cards..*
Self-surgery ftw!! xD

Can't customize your deck, no level select in normal mode, challenge mode is based FAR too much on pure luck. I like the idea but it needs work, I don't think I'll even play this to get the badges. 2/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
unholy power is broken, i got the immpossible badge, but the unholy power badge, despite doing over 35 damage at times, never updated
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
You wanna know the REAL challenge mode in this game? It's when you win one or two games in the core mode but don't advance any ranks. THAT is a challenge.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Challenge 15 is like playing russian roulette with 200 chambers and 199 of them have a bullet in them. I actually got the computer to 4 health but then got stiffed on any useful cards and inevitably lost from there.

@DRAGONFORCE when you die, you can just press the "load game" button XD took me a while to realize it was there though. So i felt the same way as you in the beginning
