Battles start out nice and busy, but always end with endless waiting for those last two or so enemies to finally come back on the screen again. Either have the game try to keep one enemy in view at all time or don't let there be a fixed amount of enemies (And have the gamer require to shoot down an x amount to advance)
For example, if pirates attack, always have 10 enemies flying around (a new one spawns when you shoot one down), but say that they retreat after you shoot down 25.

Fantastic. Reminds me of the old Elite game I used to waste hours on. Would LOVE to see sound added. That's the only thing missing for me.

and as for the extra weapons, etc, add keyboard commands. like fire missiles with 'x' or something. kinda dull with just using the left mouse button

dunno how your gonna do upgrades but heres some suggestions. have upgrades you buy such as weapons (missiles, bombs, etc.), radar, multiple-target lock, hyperspace, etc. also have level bonus upgrades such as when you level up you can increase your shields, damage, cargo space, etc.

to get rid of repetive back-and-forth sales maybe keep track of resources and set prices on that. also, put a bigger gap in buy/sell prices of expensive items. buying food for 6 and selling for 14 is about just as effective as buying computers for 45 and selling for 55

Good game so far, especially with the author taking such an active role in the comments section. One thing... The space battles could be made more interesting if they were a little more dynamic somehow.

I was pondering on what the level are for, might I suggest upgrades which are level dependent. Be it ships or HUD upgrades. Instead of adding radar etc by default why not put them in as upgrades? HUD upgrades suggestions could be, radar, automatic target tracking (instead of shift click) tracking of ships enemies off screen, hull status of enemy to name a few.
Also, for the random encounters I think there are too many enemies/asteroids. Gets a bit boring whith 3-4 encounters for one launch.

perhaps during the welcome mission you should make it so you don't get killed by 15 fast moving asteroids flying straight at your ship. its kind of hard to destroy them when you don't really understand what is going on. i probably won't play this game again.

Updated it to 0.0.6.2 which adds "fill" and "empty" buttons on trade as requested and means you cannot abandon story missions to get round a problem someone found earlier.

I like this, reminds me of the Elite series. Looking forward to the upgrades, really hard to take those lvl 2 pirates as of yet ;o)

Great game but needs a lot of work.
Sound, a pause option in battle. Auto lock in battle. Buy/Sell Max buttons. Maybe even slightly less rectangular graphics, but that's not that important. More help - I still don't know what "levels" are for.

Definitely needs a "fill all" and "sell all" buttons in the trading screen. Also, showing all items when a planet does not import/export them seems unnecessary.

whether or not this is done in papervision, this is amazing! A few UI bugs (clicking once for each cargo) but otherwise, fantastic!

hmm, if you abandon the second mission you can't go anywhere else.
You should make it so you can re-accept the mission.

I am really enjoying this game so far. In addition to the obvious upgrades, I would like to see a targeting computer to let you "lock on" to multiple objects, radar to tell how many are in range, a shield to block shots, and a thruster to avoid random encounters.

Also have to say the maru pirates are a bit hard to start the game with- give us a bit of an easier start mate ;D got past on 2nd go though so not too bad ;D

stronglink - i'll add upgrades as soon as I can, especially since you seem to have made loads of credits... you'll probably be able to afford X2 or X3 lasers and a X2 shield. Also thanks to poopoo for the "buy max" / "sell all" suggestion. will do that too.

adal8or - yes i need to add upgrades very soon. It's going to be fairly simple, you upgrade shields / weapons and cargo space. going to be expensive though so get saving! Have started making a list of stuff to do tomorrow based on feedback from you all so thanks again.

-It very looks like caravaneer but i prefer the galaxy concept

Pretty cool game! Great job for a first game! It will be very cool if you could find someone to put sound because no sound it's a little boring, but still okay.

This is my first flash game, so please be nice! Sorry there is no sound, I need to find someone to do me some explosions and stuff. Will add more story missions and stuff hopefully soon if anyone likes it. -GG99
