This reminds me so much of Murakami's Hard Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World (specifically the End of the World)

Spent something like an hour to beat the game, but I enjoyed it. Amazing backstory, and a great game, though the lack of an ending after finally finding every secret was a little disappointing (unless you count the Epiphany). For that, it gets knocked from a 6/5 to a 5/5 ^_^.

One interpretation is that Looming is a metaphor for drugs. At first September tries the drug and doesn't feel too well, but after using the drug more and more September shuns January and gets terribly addicted.

It would be nice to have a map that only shows where you have gone, like your character is drawing it as he is going along, with the locations of everything you've found but not what you've missed. That would make this game a 6/5 for me.

I know a lot of people have their own interpretation but this reminds me of Myst. Being thrown into an unknown world and learning about the people that used to live there through clues and exploration.
I had a lot of fun exploring, trying to create my own map and piecing the story together. My only complaint is that I did not know I was supposed to pick up those "dots" when I started so I missed a lot that made my end game much harder. But all in all a very satisfying experience.

It's a pretty awesome game. Atmospheric, deep and with a good storyline.
The problem I'm having at the moment is that whilst I know where I'm supposed to go in order to unlock another portal, I don't know *where* it is the place that I need to go to is. It's just so big D:

Found every object, seen every ending, still don't feel like I've completed anything. To be good a story must have an end. 2 stars.

A wonderful storyline eventhough it doesent explain it clearly it progressively starts to make more and more sence, E.I.G. at first i thought i was a spirit of the lorem or something, know i know im a scientist gone to study and uknown world. The pixels actually make it easier, if there were any more depth than that in the design it would make the storyline too hard to understand. The combination of genres is a perfect mix of mystery, romance, and something else that there is no word for. 5/5. rate + if you agree. Just one thing for an update, it would be nice if there was like a diary, so you could see endings that youve accomplished and see your characters oppinion on whats happening.

oh how i hate those games which cannot save your progress correctly. occasionally clicked a link on this site and now i have to start from scratch. jesus.

For some reason, the game loads larger than the game window on kong, which actually means I cannot click 'begin' as it is off page. I had to watch a walkthrough to learn about the menu screen =/ any help?

I kind of get a "Shadow of the Colossus" vibe, from the prominent ideas of isolation and exploration for it's own sake, but there also seems to be something of a Lovecraftian slant to the whole thing. I like it.

Okay, so I went over to pick up 'oarbor bone 1', but I wasn't able to close the dialog box. I tried pressing x, holding it down, and pushing it in rhythm with the blinking x button icon. Then I tried clicking the icon, hitting enter, space, some other buttons, moving around, ect. Anyone have any tips for how I'm supposed to close this dialog and get back to moving around?

Play this game only if you are dedicated to see it through the finish. (Might take an hour) If you don't, you'll leave unsatisfied.

Played this on Newgrounds, so I'll speak my mind before playing it here. A great game with a very interesting story; it can get confusing at times, but once you finally understand it, it's a great game. 5/5, definitely!

Remebering what will happen in the future, searching messages of brilliant but stupid engineers and bright but incompetent researchers that aren't there anymore, or will leave in the future, because they tryed to catch a skelleton that will writes signposts, waiting for an amphi.. what even is that thing?!... I finaly desided to spend my time chasing birds. 5/5 Stars, and maybe 20% of my common sense xD

So, anyone know where all the bones are? I have everything but the one between the skull and the hip on the inventory screen.

Now, I'll move on to something else.
The Game is not meant to be some massive 'lolHA! this is the story' game. You are meant to discover it as you explore the world in Looming, seeing the ruins and taking in the forboding land. Each ending brings some light to the world itself, even if it is only a metaphorical light. As the game progresses, you learn more about the storyline, which is comprised of many other storylines. In the end, by the time you finish the very final portal, you should have accumulated the entire storyline, as well as all of those it is comprised of. If not, well, you should go back to playing Box Head Zombies, its storyline is very simple to comprehend and easier to follow. 'Kill things, they are the bad guys' (b-_-)

In Otherwords, if you can't see things, try searching for something like, y'know a big dome, or searchlights, or floor tiles. Hell, the hidden signposts that lead to the portal are easy to do once you find the first one. After that, its only slightly time consuming.
