Under rating threshold (show) I'll start with the most daunting part of the game, the artifact finding. Now, everyone seems to think that these HIDDEN artifacts of lost civilizations and dying prophetic monsters should be easy to find. Which is entirely illogical. In such a stark environment, where little but the forsaken ruins and desolate environments capped and decorated with foreboding and thought-provoking half-kept architecture, little to nothing would be easily discoverable. In fact, this is considerably easier to do than if one were in such an environment. Plus, as Greg mentions in his notes: "The world in Looming is designed to lead the player to important locations; I did my best to add rough patches or faded paths that guide the eye towards places where items can be found. With the exception of the secret signposts at the corners of the world, every collectible object should be near a landmark and tied to a main path by these little scenery hints."

Under rating threshold (show) Y'know, after playing through the game, and finally being able to say that i personally love this game, i read over these comments, concerning different small things in the game, such as BURIED signposts or HIDDEN artifacts. I wonder to myself silently while i read these comments, though only a few things come to mind, and none of them are me agreeing with these whiney bitchy, idiotic views that things should be easy to find.

Under rating threshold (show) Really annoying game. If were on a smaller scale I could like it, but roaming aroung a dotted black screen looking for a slightly larger dot is a no.

Under rating threshold (show) I love the ambience, the music and the mystery. I love the story the game tantalisingly evokes. Unfortunately, after a while it turned into a pixel hunt. I eventually found all the artefacts, but don't know if I got all the signposts - didn't find a portal. Also never managed to get the spotlights aligned as the corners suggest - at least, nothing happened when I tried. So I got 7 out of 9 portals, I think, and sadly don't know if there is any final ending...

Under rating threshold (show) I experienced a moment of frustration when I was missing just one last bit to complete the artifact collection. Seeing as how I found artifacts in places that I thought familiar I assumed "arhhh, I must have missed one, now I'll have to search it screen by screen again", merely minutes later I found the last piece sitting in an area that I naturally drifted to, either I got lucky or it was a great design. I really liked the mood and it was interesting to read the notes to find out that there was very little actual resources going into this game, I think this is great to show that you don't need licensed music, studio sound effects and pixelperfect graphics to create an interesting game. I was planning to take it in small portions but after I've found the first three endings I got into a "when I get all of them it'll all fall together like pieces of a puzzle", it didn't really but still managed to avoid giving the feeling of complete randomness that the "artsy" games often give.

Under rating threshold (show) good game very in depth and well thought i like what the hidden pillers. you read a bit of story they leave a clue to find the next one more of the pieces need to do that. and all the artifacts need to have an ending. also a little bland for the amount of time needed to spend to finish the game personally if im gonna play a black and white pixel game i want to be done in under 15 min not the two hours this took me. 3/5

Under rating threshold (show) SPOILER! The Plot : In Looming, The Lorem and the Seecha met, The lorem tried to teach the Seecha logic, which was useless. And the Seecha failed to teach the Lorem how to build. The Seecha did not believe in the Sky, nor wondered about life's meaning. The Lorem believed that Chemistry was every reaction that occured, Biology driving everything to do what they do, Physics driving everything to move, Psychology to make us feel emotions, etc. The Beast watched everything happen, probably without them noticing. As the beast went through Epiphany, it wanted to change the future as it knew it was dead in it. As you play the game, you discover more.

Under rating threshold (show) SPOILER! The Game Description : The Seecha : The Seecha are extremely strong, powerful with great building skills, the seecha represent the human's ability to build. The Lorem : The Lorem depend on their brains for everything, if they can't calculate it, it doesn't exist. The Lorem represent human logic. Furthermore, The Lorems usually thought about Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Logic and other human abilities. The Beast : The beast was a watcher, it affected the plot by nothing, however it went through Epiphany, and saw the player (you) in its future, thus writing the stone pillars which you read. You : You're called September, you love a woman called January, and Looming is pulling you day by day trying to discover more. At the end of everyday, you send your lover a letter.

Under rating threshold (show) Great game! When I first started I found myself lost and confused. I came to realized this was the intension. Through exploration and creative intuition, the story line unraveled itself. The ambiance of the game made the game all that more peculiar. My only suggestion is dont get frusterated. The more you explore, the better an understanding you will attain. Again: Great game! Lets hope it gets badges. 5/5

Under rating threshold (show) guys i have 8/9 ending and ill share the last two but i need someone to help me with the hidden signpost scavenger hunt one. ok, so the 8th is to go to each of the 4 corners of looming, and itll have a signpost that says "the (direction ex. southwest or SW) faces (direction). these refer to a series of searchlights a little left of the center of looming (go up from cross about 6-8 seconds and walk left til you see them). The first direction refers to a searchlight (ex. SW= the searchlight to the bottom left of the 4) and the second refers to which way the light should be facing (hold x by them to make the light change direction) a gate will open, and thats ending 8. ending 9 is achieved in the same way,m only, after finding all of the broken diagram pieces, look at them in your inventory to see four circles and directions. change the searchlights to these directions for ending 9. now here my question to you: I cant find the signpost at the base of te spire. can anyone help

Under rating threshold (show) I normally like artsy stuff, however, this is a prime example of taking it too far. finding slightly larger dots in a field of dots, with no map, is hellish. The fact that the buried signposts are only activatable if you're next to them is awful.... Even if this had the ebst story ever, it's simply too fustrating to pixel hunt. Saying it adds to the atmosphere makes no sense, it simply prolongs the game, and adds fustration.

Under rating threshold (show) Well then, I finally achieved all the endings, turns out 12 of the items aren't needed at all. I'm all for adding to the story, but when 2/3 of the artifacts lead to the endings, it is frustrating scanning the world for that last artifact, then scanning for the portal(which turns out doesn't exist). Don't get me wrong, the endings were very clever to get and overall I'm impressed, but please understand my frustration.

Under rating threshold (show) Personally I'm sick of these artsy little games. Everyone convinces themselves that they love it because its so "thought provoking" and "original". Isn't it just a graphically inept, confusing little pixel game with no clear story line? You might as well just sit someone down with a piece of paper, tell them it's art, and wait for them to make up a reason why the piece of paper is amazing.

Under rating threshold (show) I loved it... with the use of a map. Exploring is fun, but trying to find places you've already been isn't. Perhaps at each landmark you could have received a bit of a map... but this game is complete, and enjoyable nonetheless. Two thumbs up.

Under rating threshold (show) I'm sorry...this really isn't that fun. There's just too much aimless searching for this to be fun. and your reward?...to be honest i haven't gotten that far...because there is such little content, I mean unless you call 6 different sets of things to find content. And theres no logic to where the objects are either. You just have to happen upon them. This game is like...bonus content in a REAL game. This kind of stuff should never be stand alone. Good effort, and the atmosphere and "story" is good too. But I don't like it. It's just too bland. 2/5

Under rating threshold (show) The comments to this game make me mad. People whine and complain about how there's pixel hunting, how there's no direction, no purpose, just walking. That's what makes creepy and interesting. The story is super awesome if you look into it, and the graphics are minimalistic but they work. Quit complaining over nothing.
