And to the person below.....some of the later traps are hard to see on purpose. Even with a high detect skill, some of the spike traps may be very lightly shaded. So you'll have to tread carefully. Later on, it just pays to tap the tool key as you tiptoe about a room that could be very well filled to the brim with trigger happy death.

Another comment: you seem to have very intricate knowledge of booby traps. Is there something you're not telling us about?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
good but needs several things, foremost among them a) many more types of traps and b) a way to turn around without moving.

this is a totally underrated gem... sound and music design is excellent! usually i want to mute games... this set the mood just right!

after i finished the game it shows what items i had, and the slots are called head, body, hands, head. otherwise a decent game. for some reason it reminds me of cthulu-y stuff.

Honestly, went through most of game with 12 dodge, 1 detect, and 6 disable. Even when able to find traps, was injured more often than not attempting to disable it. Ended with 52 tools for lack of good reason to use them.
I presume the big chest equipment is totally random? Nothing like getting a +1 health -1 Detect on floor 24...

A wonderful example of a random generation game done correctly. 4/5. A slight gameplay flaw, however, occurred when I was more likely to avoid damage by tripping traps than attempting to disable them.
And I'm usually not one to post scores, but I was quite proud of this one;
Equipment:
Head: Shiny Goggles (Detect +5)
Body: Tailored Sundress (Dodge +4)
Hands: Deft Bracer of Science! (Disable +7, Health +6)
Head: High Heeled Moccasins of Class (Dodge +2, Detect +5)
Inventory:
Patented Health Tonics: 1
Disposable Tools: 25
Gold Collected:
5100

Cute game... kinda fun
But pretty easy - it's good that the skill level required to dodge/disable/detect traps rises with the levels, but besides that, everything else pretty much stays the same, making for a slightly repetitive game.
3/5
(I like your other game a lot though!)

cool i liked it but i got it easy im guessing i mean not that many things hit me once i had 13 dodge it was just safer for me to run past things then try to disable them
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
well one can not turn without moving. so some traps can be seen, but not avoided. that kinda sucks.. 3/5 but nice game anyway.

Could potentially become a good roguelike, rare I think for Flash. Suggestions for improvement: ability to turn w/o moving, a way to control skill growth (xp system?).

In the chest: You find one: Derby of fail (-5 to all skills) do you wish to replace your Pleasent Bonnet (+2 dodge, +3 detect) HELL NO!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I like it, but the difficulty's a little silly--got +6 dodge early on, then got another big dodge item pretty quickly, then literally just ran through the rest of the game. Didn't get hit by a single trap past the 5th level or so.

This is quite a good system. It kinda reminds me of some BYOND games, if you've ever played those. Good work so far. I'd like to see you build on this simple, yet addictive idea.

Needs a bit more variety. Also, without finding any health tonics, I didn't have much chance. Found lots of tools, but no clothes with disable bonuses, so they were useless.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Interesting, but it seems both lacking and a little too random. High scores mean little if your gold is completely dependant on what you find randomly in chests.

The screen is black for me on level 2 both times I tried it. I'll assume I'm not missing something blindingly obvious and chalk it up to the fact this game is buggy.

very boring :S room after room there must find that lever to get next level, boring boring boring with that boring bg music... and no use of money... huoh... and disabling is useless, its same that u run on spikes, and there better change not to lose health when u run over spikes, flames etc...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The major thing this needs is a save feature. I did the last five levels with a single block of health, desperately needing a tonic. While that certainly added suspense, I probably would not have played again had I not been so lucky with the last five levels. On the other end, I got basically the same equipment form every big chest (+Dodge) on the 7 of the first 15 levels. Fun is somewhere between RNG and overly planned.

Like the others who have posted; it's a good start but feels like a work in progress.
There isn't enough of an element of challenge/surprise. Good start though.

spunky has good ideas. Don't understand what gold is for it would be cool if u could buy stuff, but i give u 4/5 for sumthing new and cool just needs sum adjustments to get the 5

A little more variety would be welcome. You've got a creepy Victorian tomb raiding atmosphere going, which I like, but after a while you know if you are generally careful nothing bad is going to happen. Needs more trap types, false alarms, ghosts, hidden treasure, secret passages, being chased by pirates, investigation, story. Really any or all of the above would help. An okay game that could be really cool. What if she could find stuff in the tombs then build stuff with it? What if she was investigating her family history? What if there was a golem terrorizing the populace and only the intrepid archeologist Ms. Whoever was brave enough to investigate. Spice it up!

Good controls for a puzzle game, but without a save and with no real point to the game its repetitive. Plus gold has no value. 2/5
