a tip for winning. be aggressive, don't try to hang back and develop your plants, you wont be able to win in latter levels. just go on the offensive as quickly a possible.

If you're having trouble on getting gold leaves, the game is fairly easy. The computer will generate faster than you so dragging out is bad. Be Aggressive, B E Aggressive.

skill paths are unballenced heal has the right example for more cost you get some extr healing but you have to wait longer but with fire ball at the end of either path fire ball does 10 dmg per mana spent so its easily the better choise to go for low cost so you dont over pay and overkill

This game is amazing! At first I thought it was a bit of a cake walk, then you turn the difficulty up to full and you get an engaging and fun challenge! The last few levels are quite a challenge on top difficulty, and by doing each level on top difficulty one by one you slowly get the difficulty curve ramps up and you have to up your game! Love it to bits, a refreshing addition to Kongregate.

Very good game, I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately it is a bit too easy, you could tune the overall difficulty up a bit.

Definitely five stars. Easier and more fast-paced than most of these defense games. Only one flaw: the meteor spell makes no sense given the theme. Why do all of these defense games have meteor spells? Great game, and thanks for my 100th hard badge!

haha, fully upgraded meteor for damage, maxed damage, reduced prices and income, just build/sell/repeat to gain mana, and use meteor for 200 damage.
I responded a few times already :) In fact Golden Symbiosis is just more powerful version of regular symbiosis (the energy which you transfer from one plant to another)...

Excellent and innovative. My only criticism is that the difficulty is much too low. The only levels I had to think about were 11 upwards on gold. I could easily finish all other levels and challenges first try. BTW, I think there's quite a few games that have a *look* reminiscent of Kingdom Rush (somewhat like this one, which isn't a bad thing at all. I find it very attractive) but the gameplay is quite different. Only thing that stopped me rating it 5/5 was the lack of difficulty, otherwise it's a perfect game. I'd very much like to see a sequel, too. 4/5

The best way to finish the gold levels is to rush the enemy crystals with a full symbiosis plant. You can't use a "build up your forces" tactic against them, because they start to multiply at a ridiculous rate if you leave them alone.

This is actually a really fun little game!! I like how they grow based on time and not experience, and the AI was at least somewhat of a challenge.
I would love to see a more in-depth sequal, as I really liked this game, but also acquired the "hard" badge in very little time. Maybe some kind of tiered growth? Pick a type of "seed," they all start out as the same small plant, but as they grow, develop different abilities based off of which kind of "seed" you chose? Just a thought. Either way, I don't know if you plan a sequal or not, but I would definately play it, if you do!

I thought that this game was elegantly put together. Perhaps a bit simple strategically. My only complaint where the final badge requiring that all missions be played three times as I'm left with all the other badges but that and reluctant to play through a third time with no added elements except for perhaps intentionally handicapping myself.
I was curious, what does the mechanic golden symbiosis do?

Fun game 5/5. But the skill tree seems too direct and simple. Why no skill about your title, Symbiosis? And the defense skill seems not that effective/attractive imo, I finished all achievements(except 3 games/stage) without ever using it.

jarofed, You've got a great future as a programmer. The defense spell and the heal spell were useless to me, but one man can only program so much. That's understood. I didn't see any bugs, and the game held my intrest. Great work!

Phew! Now I can finally get Doris. This game is a little like a hybrid of tower defense and area capture games. Mostly the area capture/divide and conquer.

gokuguy, if you like it, why give it a 1/5? If you're rating it badly despite liking it that's silly, and if you don't like it because it's hard and time consuming.. Then you don't like it.

advice if you're stuck:
PAUSE whenever you're gonna buy something or change commands on your plants, the more the meter on the right fills, the FASTER the crystals spawn.
also have at least one plant for symbosis, remember that the FARTHER away the plant is the better symbiosis effect you'll get
make sure you clear each stage on 1 star, 2 star, and 3 star difficulty in that order, you have to play each stage three times anyways so don't jump straight to 3 stars (it'll be a lot harder if you jump to three stars anyways)

Played this years ago, came back to trigger BotD, saw I hadn't quite finished the hard badge, ran a 100% playthrough. Excellent game.

Absolutely love this game! It's so playable and accessible. Real nice learning curve. I picked it up tonight and finished it tonight in only an hour! I think the different types of plants idea is great, and maybe instead of having to click the five different upgrades for the crystals to increase difficultly, just have different difficulty options. I really did wish this game was longer because it's so amazing I'd love to play more of it. I will most definitely be looking forward to any sequels of this game in the future! Hopefully there's more levels to prolong the awesomeness!

This game was rather easy if you can work fast enough. Not a bad game however once you have more power ups it is an easy race to the finish even the hard badge is easy.

It seems like the larger damaging meteor path is the better one, since it allows you to one-shot level 1 crystals that spawn on top of wells on the highest difficulty (when they have 150 HP).

@DementiaDisdain: You already have to beat all levels on III to achieve the hard badge. It's one of the 28 achievements.

This game is not a tower defense game. You are not placing towers to defend something. All this game is is placing towers to fight other towers.
