Up until the point where I got stuck in the graphics (underneath the first flag-type-thing) this was an absolutely joy to play, and I imagine when I go back to it later it still will be. The Octopod is so cute! :)

Why, why, WHY would you put the jump button in between the two attack buttons? Why is the melee attack mapped to my ring finger, while the least-frequently-used throw command is mapped to my index finger? Why does it say that I rescued all 13 hostages when there are at least 14 in the game? And why would you let me gain back more points than I lost for failing a stage, thus allowing me to grind to the top of the scoreboard? Did you even bother to playtest the final build??

I have tried playing this game on 3 different keyboards (2 Qwerty, 1 Azerty), 2 different computers, and 6 different web browsers. I still cannot get past the start screen. Since my previous comment was rated down, I imagine someone here can explain how to remedy the situation in a civil manner. I would like to rate the game higher than 1/5, but I would need to be able to play the game first.

0/5. Why? I cannot navigate past the start screen. Arrow keys work for other games, not for this one. WASD doesn't work either. If you want me to rate this game higher, I need to be able to get past the start screen.

I wish the controls were customizable. I would like to reverse the attack and jump buttons because that feels more natural to me.

The controls are kinda laggy, you have to plan your next move like half of second before. This makes wall-jumping pretty hard.

It is so hard to mute this piece of shit. Seriously, would it have been so hard to add a 'MUTE' button instead of having to go to menu and holding the left button for TWO separate panels? 1/5 without even playing.

Seriously, the volume control. My computer is set to the lowest possible setting of volume, and it is still blaring, and doesn't get any quieter until around the # 30 when lowering volume.

agreed with the bad controls - and the character flops all over the place which breaks any fluidity. it's a shame, because i want to like this game, but i won't play it.

i honestly gave up at like the third level because i found that the control scheme was clunky and ineffective, i can blame some of this on our computer, but not all of it, that about 65% i blame on your game

The one thing I would add to or remove from this game would be the ability to customize the controls. I cannot tell you how many times I died thinking A was jump and S was attack.

Adorable but I just got trapped inside of a block!! Instead of climbing the wall, it let me go inside of the scenery, and now the walls have decided to be properly solid. It's the part where you come to a dirt/grass block with a strange device with a red light on it on top...

5/5 for music, 5/5 for art and animation, 3/5 for actual gameplay. Controlling wall jumps and climbing was kind of awkward, dodging the captain's attacks while attacking him was difficult, and I feel it wasn't that unique of a platformer (standard jump/attack/ranged attack). Other than that, awesome game.

If anyone remembers this game from Sega Genesis it was Decap Attack this games attack and movement basics are quite is VERY similar to it,cept when you get hurt you dont lose your skull,and it brings back ALOT of memorys thank you for this wonderful game it gets a nice 5/5 and fav.if anyone gets a chance you should download a Sega Genesis Emulator and play DecapAttack,one of the best platformed semi-scary headless games ever
