Hey ranoknas, the Piece movement being confusing is def something I thought about. Because the pieces level up in a way I wanted to add in some visual cues. So you have the 4 pieces types, soldier, centaur, dwarf, and minotaur. Then they have 3 levels which allow them to move 1 space, 2 spaces, or across the board in their own directions. Finally there is a visual cue for each level. Level 1 have no weapons, level 2 has a shield, and level 3 has a shield and weapon. Hope this might make it more clear.

Great Game!!! i love chess puzzles and want to see your game get better. just some ideas, perhaps get a unique shape/icon for each piece, if not a different character like shogi? i found playing to be kinda tedious as i need to keep checking how each piece moves.

You should really change the finished screen. I mena, A red button with text written in with paint? You can do better.
unless it's some kind of easter egg.. lol

Seems too similar to chess, though I actually prefer Pawns to whatever the first piece is. Not bad, but it needs to have some variety, as chess itself gives you more options than this does.

I love the different moves that wouldn't normally be in a game of chess. The moves of the AI are predictable after a while. Good game but not the very very best. 4/5

If you could arrange the pieces at the beggining, and have a player vs player mode, this could become something great

Good enough - needs better AI and better Graphics. I didn't mind about the graphics, then I saw the next level button. Fun though 4/5

Great job. Chess has survived because of its simplicity and complexity. Its difficult to improve on something like that. Bold to even try. Also, multimillion dollar computers are built entirely for chess, so to attempt an AI is very difficult. Very well done. Obviously it would be great to have more challenge, but for what it is, its great. I would consider scenarios though, they may add an extra flavor. For example a setup that leaves you shorthanded or next to defeat asking the player to escape or survive x turns. Keep up the great work.

The AI has patterns it falls back on, I've noticed. If you both diminish each others numbers enough, you can figure out these patterns and, even if it might put itself in danger, the computer will stick to these patterns. Extremely easy way to beat it is to just shift a few of your pieces back and forth and figure out what its pattern is for the match.

this is a really nice game. there's no luck involved, and the different piece combinations keep it fresh. I long to play this against a human. if you made a pvp server, I'd be on it for hours at a time.

Really really fun, but its kinda dumb. Each difficulty feels like the same game except with extra annoying, like how from easy-medium you cant click the enemy to see where they can move, that doesnt add difficulty, that just adds annoyance as I have to calculate out where they can move, instead of just clicking a button. Not any harder, just more annoying, 3/5

Mhm.. needs a better AI. Much too easy, 4/5. Fairly fun, not too much of a challenge but enough to be engaging, nice concept. Would definitely recommend adding another difficulty level, the game has quite a bit off potential, just needs a better AI.

Fun use of about an hour to complete all three difficulties. I'd love to see a multiplayer aspect in future versions or at least a stronger AI because I think the game itself has a lot of potential but is being brought down by the limited challenges. It would also be cool to have players make custom setups for matches that could put you at a disadvantage or could even be a puzzle to solve.

Have been playing chess my entire life, and battle chess for well never mind. This is a brilliant twist on a classic. It is a very good start, can not wait until you release a version where I can play against a person, and have the ability to place my own pieces. Well Done, will be watching you in the future. 5/5

This game shows a great deal of promise. There could be a ton of other pieces and rules accompanying each. That would be awesome. Also, free beer would make it more cool.

Even if I hated this game, I'd give it a 5 just because it's a new concept and not some duplicate with a small change. Too bad I can't rate this a 10.

makes me want to get back into chess.my problem is i usually dont lokk at all the repercusions of situations. it is nicely complex, gets a 5/5, and i have an idea. what if in certain levels you could insert specific AI's, not in difficulty but in tactics? like on one level it could be an agressive one, another defencsive, strategic, ect. another thing, may i ask what programs or such go into game designing? i would really like to get into the field. anywho, solid game.
