Nice that you can save and continue the way back once you get the goblet. An exit to the dungeon appearing on lvl 1 woud be nice. Shame you get the same items all over on the way back (completing a set of leather would be nice)

Finally got the "Storybook Ending Badge" It seemed most doable with necromancer concentrating on summoning skeletons. To achieve victory First points go in getting more mana, then concentrate on getting an alternate weapon (fire staff did excellent) so you can double the damage while enemies are poisoned. In mid game start rising hp or getting non penalizing protection. Worth investing on getting sprint to get out of sticky situations. Avoid infectious disease at all costs!

If you fancy an extra challenge Press the Q icon to save and quit when you have the Goblet of Yendor. It will allow you to continue the game with the Goblet and go back through all the levels fresh. It's fair to say lv1 rats didn't do well against my level 5 Inferno Sword!

@samuwla: Fortunately, there is a workaround for this situation. When the enemy and you are no longer in each other's sight, the enemy doesn't go away anymore, which allows you to come closer by putting a wall between your target and you. For example, if the mob is fleeing towards the north with an open straight line of 6 tiles between you and him, and if there is a wall on the north side of the north-east tile (tile #1) next to you, just move on this tile. The enemy is now no longer in your sight. Then move on the north-west tile of tile #1. The open straight line is back, and there is only 5 tiles between you and the mob. Rinse and repeat as needed and, with a bit of pratice, you'll even be able to drive the escaping mobs in the direction of hazardous spots, just by positioning you smartly. Good luck! :-)

Whenever enemies appear the mouvements get restricted to one tile by one tile, which sucks majorly when trying to catch up to something running away :/

@rockydennis Once you are out of level 16, you drop and pick up the goblet to end the game. If you save again when picking, it resets all the other levels, 16 included.

At the end, when you get the Goblet of Yendor - when the dialogue box pops up telling you that you won, if you save and exit at that point, you can then load your saved game and play all the previous levels (including the side dungeons) which are reset to being unexplored with all the enemies and items available. When you encounter the merchant, he'll actually offer you $250 for the Goblet (but the game won't actually let you sell it).

@yessint: The Steam version (which isn't free, but has been updated) includes the ability to choose your race, and one of the options is vampire.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i understand that the chances of adding a new character, let alone an update in general is highly unlikely, but i have a character... sort of. actually two. a dryad type thing that can do stuff with all the plant-life around. the other is like a vampire or hemomancer type. basically anything that works with all the blood spilling everywhere. keep up the good work

@eddietang715: It was more than just being webbed I would think, since going up stairs usually allows me to escape webbing with no problem.

@ttobbaa: Worse is that you can't even buy/sell keys. About the only way around locked doors if you don't have keys is blinking in and out.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
You have found 2 keys on level 1. You will never see a locked door your whole run. You will see five of them next run, when you have zero keys. Also, you're a Warrior, and you will only find + spell strength gear. You will die, you will curse, but you will start over again...

I FINALLY DID IT! Used my necromancer and his army of skeletons. Kept upgrading mana/focus to get more. But the big win was gaining the charm of mana.

@zer0nix: please see https://rogue-fable-iii.fandom.com/wiki/Critical There are lots of tips on the whole site. Basically, any attack has a random chance of being a critical hit but you can't increase the probability by dumping points in stats or skills. Each point of stealth grants +5% damage on a critical hit. Only physical attacks can result in a critical hits, not elemental ones. If you play a mage and want to consistently land critical hits, use a staff of magic missiles (physical damage) or lure the enemies into hazardous spots (water doubles electric damage, oil, grass and wines probably increase fire damage, unstable spots are a guaranteed critical hit when dealing physical damage --> https://rogue-fable-iii.fandom.com/wiki/Unstable ). Berserk and Deadeye talents also grant critical hits on each melee or ranged attack for a limited time. The downside is the 250 turns cooldown.

I love how consistent the game is. Every time I die I can always see what mistake I made that led to it, the only annoying part about it is the arachnids, since they have so many buffs, but I suppose I should expect that since they're the final enemy race that you face before you win. There is nearly nothing (in combat) that is left to chance, with the exception of crits and misses, which helps me a lot with getting better at the game.

MagnusN53, I hate to break it to you, but either you're only using the Barbarian, or you are doing something very wrong. May I suggest using the enchanter as by far the easiest class to win with, first.

It would be cool to have an impossible badge on kongregate for completing 5 daily dungeons in a row. It was quite the challenge to do it.

Also, draw enemies upstairs 1 or 2 at a time if you get swamped. Anyone standing next to you when you use the stairs comes with you. It's a useful trick to divide and conquer, esp. if priests keep healing your target. Especially effective with strafe attack.

@MagnusN53, try the following:
- Use a ranger, invest in stealth and ranged.
- Get sprint, power shot, tunnel shot and range mastery
- Use the terrain to your advantage, and wait for your talents to recharge before starting or continuing a fight (going up the stairs, wait, return, rinse, repeat)

Took me three years, hundreds of hours, thousands of plays, and I finally got to the last floor just to die. Starting to give up on ever clearing the dungeon
