Same problem as DJLink4830
and When I clicked on the tick next to Class in properties of the movie clip, it said that Class is not supported in AS2.0, only in 3.0..

Even if you don't have Flash, at least read through it. It only takes 5 minutes and works (change the syntax) for other software too. 6/5!

Why watch it when you don't have flash? How stupid can *most* people be?! And why even buy it when you barely use it? Fine, just live in the shadow of the game makers, playing flash games... If nobody made games, then you'd cry. If not, you'd be extremely bored.

Great tutorial, I dabble in some flas before and got stuck so hopefully the other tutorials will help me.
Some Notes:
Make sure you save your fla. file and save your as. file in the same folder... I know people havve already said that, but I thought it should be noted you have to save the fla. yourself.
Make sure you save you as. file every time you make changes, otherwise they wont show up in your tests.
Notice that the _y "+" "-" commands are reversed... Thats because _y values are reversed in flash.

For all you naysayers against this, speaking out against it as a money ploy. ...YES! well...partially yes, and let me remind you that you are not paying for any services on KONG and do not have any popups. Personally, I am happy for Kongregate to have gotten such major advertising...it means good things for them...and I like Kongregate, so I would never run my mouth to any degree so as reflect otherwise...*ahem*. In other words...stfu and sit back and relax. Stop taking yourselves too seriously, and be content in knowing Kongregate is making money, which means overall community improvements....only good things for the consumer assuming it remains free to users.
>>>Jeez! I can't believe how many people on here seem to think they are professional critics. Such a shame.
AND BTW...if you're going to criticise grammar, then don't say "here and their" when it should be "here and *there*".

if you have no intention on making a game, gtfo this page. seriously, its obviously not the flash thingy(for lack of a better term >.>) for you.

i don't think these tutorials should have all this huss and fuss, black background, etc. i was expecting a lot more honestly.

this seems to be doing this a very difficult way. these tutorials are very difficult. there are much easier ways to do the same thing. such as scrolling background or moving the ship.

I keep getting two errors, "1017: The definition of base class MovieClip was not found." and "5000: The class 'Ship' must subclass 'flash.display.MovieClip' since it is linked to a library symbol of that type." Any ideas?

If you get an error like: "The class or interface 'Ship' could not be loaded" make sure that you saved Ship.as in the same folder as your .fla file
