sound options don't work. turned sound down both sound options all the way, game kept blaring at me.
You've actually managed to make this worse in your lazy port job. Original quake would alteast mute if I told it too.

The source code of the Quake and QuakeWorld engines was licensed under the GPL in 1999. The id Software maps, objects, textures, sounds and other creative works remain under their original license.
Do some research before acting like a smart ass.

Whoo! Quake! seems to work fine, and I would play further, except I just got Quake on steam....
5/5 from me for porting such an awesome game!

Was Quake 1 this intense? The controls were WAY too responsive and awkward and I found myself regularly getting dizzy. This really was fun though. If you're not a clutz like me, you should really enjoy this game. I found it easier to play by using the left and right arrow keys to turn instead of the mouse. Aiming via click and drag redefines unpleasant experience. 5/5 for fast paced awesomeness.

@somberfox Notice how you can only access the first level? That is because this is the shareware version from back in the day which was free to distribute. What you are getting when you buy the game is access to all the levels. It would help if you knew what you were talking about before you posted. *EDITED*

Man, it's been so long since I've played this game! XD Love it :D Only one bug: the mouse is still based on its position on your screen when you try to use it. That means you can only go so far in one direction before you have to let go, move back to the middle, and click again.

Good port, but honestly pointless. There is no reason to play it in flash. Also kongregate does not allow fullscreen which hurts this game a lot, since the mouse goes offscreen quite a bit during turning.

this brings back such memories hahaha thank you so much i dont care about the copy right i lost the game years ago and have been looking for one forever! ty!

Flash can finally run a 14 year old game at decent speed, how awesome is that!
Great job by the way, are there plans to add mouse aiming?

And Cosmicmonkey, as i already said im just asking questions which are perfectly ok for me to ask im not saying remove the game, i am as i have said ASKING QUESTIONS thats all im just a bit confused.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
wait so let me get this straight. the fact its open source means that other people are free to gain money from it through sites that ask that the owner of the game uploads it?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@draupner YES you are right.. I really don't think that this person can upload this game..
I'll have to rate this game 1/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Don't you have to be the legal owner of games to upload them? yes its shareware but IF it does get rated to the extent that it wins prizes (cash prize) then that cash will not be going to the creator of the game. this, if im not mistaken is a breach of the
Game License Uploading Agreement (the fact the the creator/producer of this game isnt the person who uploaded it) i know its an awesome game. now im no lawyer, or anything like that but if someone is going to get money when they didnt help create the game in the slightest i myself cant sit and NOT wonder if this does or doesnt break any licenses. now if im wrong, feel free to rate my comment down, i dont seriously care. i just want to know HOW and WHY someone other then the owner of Quake can upload it. Please someone enlighten me

I don't know if this is just me, but the keys keep locking up whenever I walk around. I'll be strafing to kill a guy, then after he's dead I'll keep strafing even though I'm not holding down the button. Still, a fantastic game and I'm not going ot rate it down for a problem that might not even be the game's fault. 4/5!

My favorite part: "This is the shareware version. Please Register! Call 1-800-IDGAMES today!" Brings back some memories.
