God! I absolutely am a sucker for nostalgia! I love everything about this game! My favorite thing is how monsters will aggro to you when you attack another in the same map. The variety of monsters in a single map is also quite fun to fight around.
Couple suggestions would be to fix when phasing into another map and moving along the border tends to toss you back to the previous map. Also adding a zoom function on the map with markers for towns and/or quests.

STR needed a bit of a boost, a lot more items would have bin nice as well got 1,5mill and nothing to spend it on few more weapons would be nice even if there just slightly better and cost sjitload.

lol, i glitched. i was trying to get to a part of doom island's bech that i shoulden't be able to get to, started swimming(to get the map filled) and ran into an area filled with white. then it froze. i have a screenshot if you want it. i can tell you how i got there too, so you can prevent this from happaning in your nest update.

I hate wankers that make a game and put it on another site, only to leave the enticement of achievements, that are only available on their site.

What's going to die first: the enemy or my J key? Some enemies just have way too much HP. Even with a stronger weapon, it takes like ten hits at least sometimes, and all they do is slowly shamble towards you, get swatted back, and repeat. Gets a little tedious. Overall, it feels more like a foundation or a prototype of an RPG; just testing monsters and NPC/quests to make sure it all works before putting the real content in. It just lacks personality at the moment. The maps themselves are decent, though. Some more puzzles, treasures, and other stuff out in the field would be a huge improvement.

on doom island there is a small opening between two trees where you can pass right through a stump and get to the beach. its two screens below the guard and you dont have to kill 20 red "slimes". figured id let you know

My big problem with this game is it lacks boss battles. I was thinking Pandera's cave would lead to an epic fight but then it just ended. Boss battles would make it significantly more fun if this was 1997 this would be a great game but the mechanics and graphics feel very outdated. I understand it is supposed to be like Zelda but even old school Zelda has better mechanics. 3/5 nice try but you really need to add more meaning to the game instead of just wandering around just to find out your father was evil.

You should add some recovery time after you got hit for otherwise if you get cornered by one or two enemies you die without having a chance to fight back or escape.

So as I venture through the forest I find a beach and decide to go for a swim. Luckily I find my way through the coral reef, but then I swim through an endless ocean of water until I reach HEAVEN! But now for some reason I cannot move... oh, also I found an entrance into the middle of a dungeon also by swimming in the water, just FYI.

I like the rpgs you come out with, as a game its very good. Some useability improvements like the zoom feature might be nice but not neccesary. What I really want to say is my disappointment stems from this only being 1 part and not waiting to finish part 2 before release. And that as many others have stated the amount of material used from the loz gb games is a bit disturbing to me because I do feel you put out good work and that this game shows how your work continues to improve. Really looking forward to part 2 and other rpgs from you!

I love the game but the camera needs work. It gets a bit annoying when I'm trying to advance to the next area but I can't because I keep running into water or an enemy that I can't see off screen.

Loved the game. A couple of suggestions... 1) Bosses (at least one) 2) more puzzles 3) change the characters appearance with equips (i.e.- if you equip a shield you should actually see a sheild, and it should do something) 4) dont put a lvl cap on skills, let us be a bad-A with an axe/sword/whatever if we want. Thanks! Nice Job!

...I don't care what anyone else think about this game, I cannot like this. I just gave this game 3 strikes and it's out. The lack of invincibility is one. The utter uselessness of being an archer is one. But an entire 160 HP is wasted solely by poisoning that goes on forever and ever? I'm sorry, this game really is not to my taste.

nvm you need to have a skill point to be able to learn it so please ignore my earlier comment and tell people that they need that.

yippie ka yay time adventure *goes into water* omg it hurt the pain the pain it hurts so much. maybe i should learn to swim before going on a adventure..

Oh and forgot to say, you should have an option to buy multiple arrows at once, because i was buying 7000 at a time by the end and it would have been impractical without an autoclicker.

Just finished game with full archer build. Highlite was at end of the cave where you learn swimming, just when i thought i would survive the final room i ran out of arrows. Only had the ice arrows etc from chests. Managed to tank enough mobs and got out alive with 36 out of 900 hp and less than a dozen fire arrows. My heart was pounding.
Kinda hard for an archer since the cheapest arrows cost 3 apiece. Maybe you could have an arrow that is +0 dmg that only costs one so the player could start using bow sooner. As it was i used sword until level 26 or so then bought the second best bow and was still only just better than breaking even on cash with arrow expenses. Also frustrating not to be able to wear robin's ring since the slot is occupied with arrows.
Extremely fun to be able to sneak onto a screen, snipe a choice target, pop off to drop the aggro and repeat until you have half the screen and can just release machine gun fire style arrows into the remaining creeps.

Final build: level 70ish everything in dex, bow skills and gold gathering (for arrow expenses).
Nice job matakukos, keep up the good work! :D
P.S. had to split comment into two pieces because was at 1200 characters and max is 1000.

bigger potions should be more cost efficient than the smaller ones. why should i spend extra for the big potion when i can just buy a bunch of mini potions?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i dunno if i missed something, but it's unbelievably annoying to purchase arrows one at a time, especially if you're like me, and prefer to have at least 300 arrows on at all times

3/5 because the game didn't keep its promise to be "zelda-like" at all. this doesn't have to do anything with zelda except the graphics.

Would have been a pretty decent rpg if you didn't steal so many things directly from the Zelda gameboy color games. Not bad, though.

I see a lot of great effort in this game, and it is quite fun; 5/5. That said, it has room for improvement. I'd like to see the combat improved. Tweak the controls so a brief directional tap makes me face a direction (to attack) without moving that way. Add greater variety of monster movement, so I have to mix up my tactics (instead of stand in place and knock everything back). Add boss fights. Add a couple more items/abilities. Add secret doors. Make the world more open (the game feels pretty linear, despite the fact that I'm ostensibly exploring). Above all, keep up the good work; there's a lot to like about this game, and I'm hoping there will be more of the good stuff in any sequels.
