the biggest problem with this game is how quickly it devolves from something you play for fun into something you are doing for the badge due to completionist tendecies

My strat for early game is to farm starting magic runes and mana until u can immediately get 25-50, then move onto higher tier runs for the higher tier bonuses
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
basically, do easy runs until it becomes too easy, then move on to slightly harder runs, repeat. worship is the reward for waiting, ignore it. And finally, if u dont like a game solely about watching numbers get bigger, move on.

The scaling in this game is insanely poor. OOC, can anyone who's reached 300 Occult runes shed some lights on what stats you need? I've been over 200 for days now, but I'm nowhere near close to 300.

I had spent over a month trying to get the Hard badge out of sheer compulsion. I just opened the game to prestige and all my progress has been lost. 0 chance I'm doing it over again. 1/5 is being generous for a "game" with some serious scaling issues.

I know it's no longer the BOTD at the time of writing this, but Kong really did everyone dirty by making the medium badge the first day XD For future BOTDers: Click settings, click 'abort current run' if available (if not, you'll have to finish the run you are on; tip: PRESTIGE, do not wait), if you are not presented with a run that says '002' at the top, keep clicking the reroll button until you do (I recommend a run that asks for '300 Occult Runes' or something like that), then complete the goals until you've reached the end goal and then manually save. Make sure to give yourself several hours to complete any and all of these badges. Yes, you can save the game and come back to it, just don't delete your cookies or your temporary files before you've gotten the badges that you're going for; the game will do a hard reset and you'll lose all of your progress... which is exactly what just happened to me (I already got all of the badges, though, so I'm good to go). Good luck!

So I had auto-prestige on but random reward turned off. I was expecting to see the usual choices come when it auto-prestiged me, but instead no bonuses were applied?!?! Am I missing something?!?!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Hopefully either dev adjusts values to make it more easily achievable in the timeframe in case the badge shows up in the future or kong changes the badge.

Idle games as BotD are ok if it isn't some grindy impossible thing. If your idle game doesn't take so long to grind in the beginning a lot of people will jump ship fast.

This "game" if you can call it that absolutely needs to be cheated. Fortunately the way import works means we can ALL share. I can't post links, but you know what you need to do... Utterly criminal this somehow has a score of 3 with so little effort put in.

Just as an update to my previous comment. Saved data was lost from the last BOTD, and I've spent the better part of 7 hours babysitting this junky game and haven't managed to get past run 001 yet. How in the world is someone expected to get this badge in a single day?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I give up. I had a head start. I did a few runs before. I started Run 002 thinking I'll be able to complete it to get the BOTD. It turns out I'd need to wait for over a week to be able to complete it. I wasted so many hours on this run it's too late to do multiple easier runs to get enough buffs to even have a chance.
The only way to get the BOTD from 0 is to play for like 15 hours straight while constantly babysitting the game. So if you want to start right now it's already too late.

I've been playing for a while. I don't know if you can get the second badge in one day, but if it is then it's by prestiging more and by doing run 1 more than once. Good luck.

So to increase the number of light runes I have from 100 to 150 I'm going to need 1.8e14 mana - why do I get the feeling I won't be earning BOTD today?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Said it when this game was up in march and say it again now. Terrible game, terrible badges, and no real instructions or hints on how to progress unless someone has said it in the comments. So tired of all these idle badge games for BoTD

An incremental game that might take a few days to get the medium badge ... *thinks* ... OK, let's put that one as badge of the day on Monday.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
"second run" is not the regular prestige, it's more like a *super* prestige where you lose all your prestige points. see the goal that says "200 light runes"? yeah, when you do that you get the choice to end your current run and start run 002.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
how to get the badge of the day "Second Run – Complete Run 002." ? i did rush prestige tice and i did not unlok it, is it a feture that unlock later?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
OK, I take back what I said - setting your auto-prestige low enough that it just spins through prestige after prestige stops working at some point. Mine appears to be at 904, even after hours of prestiging every couple seconds. I don't know if that's a hard cap or something to do with my level in other ways.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@billco, if you set it at a low enough auto-prestige that it can just prestige over and over again, leave it like that for a couple hours and you'll have a bunch more followers.

I think it bears repeating that the scaling in this game is really skewed. I've hit a point where I can get 350 ash runes in a matter of minutes, if it even takes that long, but I've been waiting several days to be able to get to 400 to complete my run. The prestige bonuses are starting to become really small; less than a 5% boost every time I prestige.
I can't imagine going much further than the hard badge for this game, if I can even get that far.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Hard badge: Do many low level runs to raise Income and Cost Prestige steadily to ~2000%, until higher runs (>003) become easier. Accumulate ~3000% bonus for Magic Runes. This will not only give you a quickstart on each new run, but it will also produce the largest chunk of your income even with higher level runes. If automation hits a wall, switch to manual and focus on your highest income rune first, then the other runes. Prefer runs which can be done either in one quick session or in two sessions with one or two idle days in between. Do a dozen of runs on 003 or 004 and the hard badge can be done on run 005.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Tip: if you are suffering from very slow runs, go back and do some lower level runs, building up your bonuses more before trying higher runs again.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Ok I have been playing a bit more off and on and trying to hit 400 ash runes which honestly seems impossible. My upgrades are all 1/10 of a percent per prestige. THis game could use a lot of love in balance. BTW This has been over a week in the making. Would love to hear from the dev
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Can we get a way to end runs early for perhaps less reward based on how far we got. For instance if we make it 315/400 we get a certain percentage. It would really help in some of these super long slog runs. As an active idler I really like to be able to super prestige at least every 24hrs otherwise I just forget about the game.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This game sucks... been on mission 4 for weeks and still can't get to 350 ash runes...... i'm betting it only gets worse
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@desmonde On the main screen there are 10 placeholder dots above Final Goal. When each run ends you earn a dot from the left to the right. When you finish a run and click Reroll easier run you will lose an earned dot. By not rerolling you will save up those dots. The more dots you have, the higher runs you will be offered. I think you need run 003's to go beyond Occult Runes.
