I love a good platformer game, and this one is no different. Very unique, although my one complaint is that the puzzles eventually start to turn into a bit of guess work (at least they did for me) 5/5

Very, very rarely do games that proclaim themselves to be "original" live up to the title. But this one most definitely has. Not since Shift has there been a flash platformer this innovative. Left me wanting more, lots more. 5/5

Me gusta. I liked the concept and the levels made it challenging. It was interesting that it was kind of sporadic on difficulty because some levels were difficult then they were followed by total cakewalks.

Don't die while all spawn points are "folded away". It seems to break the game as it is now frozen in front of me. Great game though!

Guys, if you ar amazed by this, then go to nitrome.com Over there this game is old, and they have made many better than this one, so go to nitrome.com

@icefire452 I don't disagree. I've really enjoyed other Nitrome games. I loved the gameplay of faultline and gave a 5/5. I commented at all because I loved it and started thinking of ways that it could be even better. And I was simply musing that about features that could be implemented that add interest for me as a gamer.

@Bookburn I strongly advise you to visit Nitrome.com. This retro artwork is what they are famous for. Nitrome is also known for puzzle games with no plot (usually). This simplicity is one of the better qualities of Nitrome, in my opinion. Nitrome has realized what few game creators have. You ONLY need a plot for Adventure/RPG games. I mean, look at some of the most highly rated puzzle games. Electric Box, no plot. Red Remover, no plot. Continuity, no plot. Doodle God, half a plot. So I applaud Nitrome for realizing that gameplay is MUCH more important than the best plot could EVER be. (Of course, this is just my personal opinion and the opinion of anybody who gives me a thumbs up (unless they just like my use of parenthesis within parenthesis))

Neat! I agree with Bookburn. 1 major objection though: the jumping mechanics. Couldn't they be more like a normal platformer, (IE mario/fancypants) where your jump height is determined by how long you hold the button?

While the basic mechanism of "fault lines" is unique, more could have been done to differentiate this game from Portal which nearly every comment makes comparison to. Avoid the robot caught in a maze and go for a more organic feel. The phrase "fault line" makes me think of geology. What if the main character was some kind of rock/mud/clay golem, the levels more rock, roots and forested areas. Instead of just portaling from one level to the next, generate a plot - the golem is collecting parts/remains from other broken golems to create an army (or something). And give each level more replay value - some kind of token to collect, achievements to get, quests... something. More stylish artwork would have also been great to see.
The gameplay is great. I had a lot of fun - I was laughing, swearing and cheering aloud at my computer. I just think it could have been stronger by reexamining the setting and the pretexts for the game play.

Great concept, I think I found a few solutions that weren't 'intended', makes you feel smart :) For example in lvl27, it looked like I was gonna have to do something very complex with all the moving platforms, but I simply walked all the way to the right, connected the leftmost thingy in the room to the right to the rightmost thingy in the room I was in. Then I simply connected two more thingies to completely get rid of the wall and walked to the end.

The concept itself is fine, and it looks great as every Nitrome game, but the gameplay is (at least for me) just OK. Best Nitrome games are to be found on their site, Parasite would be one of my picks.

Wow... The concept of this game is very innovative, In my opinion, this is the greatest concept for the puzzle-platforming genre since Portal!
