I've probably replayed this game more than any other on the site. The rules stay the same but every game is different and the only obstacle is yourself. If you like to combine strategy and skill and push yourself beyond your own limits and frustrations, this is the game! For me, every score over 10 feels good, more than 20 is a win, and over 30 is crushing it. My best so far is a 67. Not sure what's good for anyone else. Only advice I have is keep the balls small, use your cursor to help line up the shot, and sometimes it helps to position a blocker or two at the bottom.

I remember playing this some yeras ago and a score of 20 something was not unheard of... Now I cant seem to get over 6...

Aw, man, this game is a long-loved classic in my book. I can't believe how many hyperactive whiners are griping about the auto-pan cannon and slow pace and begging for laser sights. Some games are mile-a-minute, action-packed endeavors bristling with upgrades... and some aren't. Calm down. The ultra-simplistic arcade-style graphics and gameplay are both intentional and fantastic. The slow, steady pace and downbeat music help create an environment in which you can calmly strategize while also making it feel like the game, itself, possesses this amazing cold indifference toward your plight. This game could hold its own right alongside Pac-Man, Centipede, Donkey Kong, and Frogger.

I still wonder how you could ruin such an awesome gameplay idea by making your controls so terribly annoying and overall slow. Not every person wants to get relaxed by artificially added slowness; give the player the choice to have their own pace: controllable cannons are a definite must!

I have given reccomendations for badges.
To Repeat here:
"Buster" Badge (easy): Score of 10
"3..2..1..0" Badge (medium): Score of 25
"Shatter-Proof" Badge (impossible): Reach score of 100

This is a game that is very relaxed. But it is the simple concept of the game that makes it so addicting. If you wish for a highscore in this game, try make numerous small ones rather than getting only 1 or 2 big ones. There is also the potential for badges. 4/5

i love this game. the simple physics make the game so addicting. I would like it if you could get a badge if you hit a certain score.

also... laser aimers and controllable cannons or faster balls would be a terrible idea and destroy the atmosphere of this game completely. This game is about coming to terms with limitations and constraints, not having awesome incredible tools that make you feel like you're talented.

The reason that this game is addicting...people who don't get it...is that unlike many games, each point is a hard-earned treasure, and the experience that you get from it depends highly on the effort and careful planning that you put into every shot. The game can also be instantly picked up when you lose...and you can completely determine the pacing of the game. One go could be less than a minute, or you can literally spend hours on one instance; carefully plotting each shot, considering its implications and assessing risk. The dynamics are simple, but pregnant with possibilities. A slight displacement of the cannon can...and often does...result in a tremendous difference in the eventual size of your ball...and cascade into a totally different strategic scenario.

*its, not it's
That's what I get for typing while on the phone.
Since I have to post again for the correction I'll rave more: this game has me shouting at my screen. Some complain about the music but for me it only adds to the tension. Once you get up to 7 or 8 you start really caring about those bounces. This game is pure skill. There are some bugs (unless corrected in the Kongregate version) but they almost work in its favor.

This is on my list of best video games ever made--Flash or otherwise--and I've been playing them for a long time. It's minimalism is perfect. You can't do much but boy does it count. I know one person who puts a ruler on his screen to plan shots if he has a high point game going.
You'll know within minutes if you're hooked or not. If you are, you're screwed. This game is a slow motion tension-induced stroke in the offing. no...no...no...don't....!#!@$%!!! when a ball expands/moves JUST A HAIR over the line.

Why are people asking for a controllable cannon? the fact it tilts on it's own makes it more fun. Althoguh I agree the balls move too slowly, I'd like it if you could get like a laser sight type thing :) Like, it shoulds where the ball would land if you fired it. 4/5 (5/5 if I get my laser aimer!)

great concept but boring game. if you could make the ball move faster and control the cannon4/5 but untill then 2/5 for concept

Interesting game. Ball moves too slowly, need a way to speed it up because otherwise most of the game is waiting for it to stop.

I wouldn't give up the uncontrollable cannon at all – it forces you to slow down, and makes it the relaxing (and yet infuriating) paradox of a game that it is.

I played for hours but couldn't score any higher than 12.
I'd like to be able to control the direction of the cannon manually rather than have it continually rotate.
And it would be great if it would post hiscores on kong too.
