Nothing unique about it, dislike how the ship "drags" slowly to follow my mouse and the bonus levels are asininely filled with bullets. The interface for upgrades is brutal, as is the game start. 2/5

game seems to be bugged for me, initially i could move around with my mouse, but after changing ship only keyboard would work and I cannot play like that... so 1 star

Yippee! I got the impossible badge! Ivod's comment is mostly helpful, but I adjusted my weapon choice a little. To defeat the boss, I went with the Interceptor Ship, Kamikaze & Casual mode, and 9 missiles for weapons. I'm not sure if it does more DPS than 8 cannons 1 missile, but the homing properties of the missile guarantees you won't waste any shots against the boss of Area 5 Stage 6, though the boss is a pretty big target. In the accessories slot, I went with 3 Power Boosters, 3 Absorption Devices, and one SETA Device, but an extra Power Booster instead of a SETA Device might work for you. For beating Area 5 Stage 6, one bit of advice would be to make sure you don't let your energy meter stay maxed out for too long. Otherwise, you are essentially wasting your energy. Also, find good spots to scrape bullets and unload your secondary fire to skip the more difficult attacks. Good luck!

I dont know if anyone else went for the "unarmed" in game achievement, but if you get the tactical ship, 3 shield regenerators, 3 second chances, and 3 energy converters, you are really hard to kill. and the emergency escape devices certainly dont hurt

question: I know it would be incredibly expensive, but other than that, is there any reason to not just buy all-missiles so you can focus on dodging without worrying about whether youll hit the boss? does the cannon do that much more damage?

Thank u Kasic.
Kasic strategy approved.
about 20 attempts. Heres his idea: "Area 5 Bonus 2 is by far the hardest stage. I died 3x more there than all other places combined, including Area 5 Bonus 3. My advice to anyone going after the impossible badge (in addition to ivod's comment) is to use 3 missiles instead of 1, and to use 2 absorption panels/2 power boosters/2 advanced targetings for the accessories. Scrape as much as you can and kill the miniboss at the start of the stage midway through his purple wave attack. After that it's relatively easy."

Area 5 Bonus 2 boss is impossible. The second attack pattern (the purple) is just a wall. There is no surviving that without getting hit.

This series elevates hit detection to an art. It also doesn't rely on stealthy bullets and instead goes all-out disco on us. I never really care for bullet hell games, but the Frantic games will always hold a place in my heart.

welp my save files were deleted again... randomly... again... and again... wait, did i forget to mention again?... oh and again

this game's save system is unbelievable.... its noticing me that it has saved game but actual save after browser restart doesnt keep as much progress as I did actually..kinda 5'th time lost few levels untouched progress grawl!!

This is a badly designed game, usually the point of a bullet hell is to avoid the bullets. You have a big ass ship and the bullets are everywhere, it's literally impossible to dodge them. *sips tea* but that's none of my business

I finished the game with Setas on instead of power boosters to get the impossible badge, but everything else close enough to the same. Seta + Absorber means you can slow your way through the hardest parts of anything, and you can rapid toggle the slowdown to get a lot of scrapes and pick up absorption boosts along the way. It has good sustain and I found the combination to be a godsend against the 5-6 boss. It's significantly harder than the rest of the game.
One general advice on the 5-6 boss: In his final third, he starts summoning bombs. You have to get to the bottom middle as quickly as possible, as you'll get trapped almost anywhere else. Immediately after the bombs, get away from the bottom middle, because shortly after this, he'll summon red orbs from offscreen, which will instantly kill you upon spawning if you stay there. Both these phases killed me the first time I encountered them due to the sheer cheapness of them.

Always epic game Frantic series! An alternative TIPS for IMPOSSIBLE BADGE "lazy version":select Tactician ship(fast regen energy and 12 accessory),select Kamikaze and Casual.Buy early 4 rockets(after some levels you can afford the first rocket)and buy 1 laser(clicking on the DarkGreen slot as ivod wrote(thx ivod),no problem if laser dont hit boss. With these weapons you do not have to worry about hitting enemies and bosses standing to the side dodging, but you have to worry only to avoid the bullets, and money will rain toward you.Buy 3 Overdrive Drive,3 Advanced Targeting,3 Power Booster,3 Coin Magnet for get fast money, after change it with 3 Absorption Panels;)In Area5 bonus3 change laser with cannon. With this ship that has fast charging of energy, you can use Secondary Weapon when there are so many enemies(just a few clicks and the rockets will clean everything easily meanwhile you can asleep):D Do the same obvious tactic..survival dodge! You have earned all achievements!Have a good game

Olde skool arcade style game. Seemed to work pretty well. Has a cool Dragonforce/Enflames/Japanese metal like soundtrack; at least during play action.

Quick hint for the people struggling with almost impossible small spaces you have to survive: Get the upgrades that gives Shield for scraping.
When a fight starts try to get a full shield, then when you get a point where you struggle just press spacebar before that point on the 2nd run and burst the boss down (at the cost of the shield) And make sure to recharge it with the modules right away so you can burst in another pinch.

Wow, fake difficulty. I can't remember how many dozens of times I've encountered patterns where it was literally impossible to squeeze a single pixel through; the bullets were seriously that close together. No really, I paused and analyzed it, there was seriously no room. The worst thing about these kind of bullet hell games that this (and many other developers) didn't program, is to have it auto pause when the cursor leaves the game screen. The bottom of the screen is the best place much of the time, and the cursor tends to go offscreen a lot when you're hugging the bottom frame.

I hate this type of game because it inevitably just devolves into a stupidly large number of bullets. It's the ultimate way to avoid having to be clever, just make a fuc k load of bullets. It's especially aggravating because dying over and over to it while trying to play is infuriating.

Jeez, everyone's talking about how easy the impossible badge is and I'm sitting here unable to beat level 13 without getting hit.

Also didn't get that far yet, but after getting unharmed after a few tries on the first area I started collecting 12k per run on the second area.
Pretty easy now to dodge if they can't fire :)

Started playing for impossible straight away, seemed insanely hard at first.
Till I realised that if you know the patterns you can focus ships down before they spawn and after 3 tries each level you should start for the unharmed bonus

That little tip on the intro screen - flash player doesn't give me that option, so no save file possible. But why would a simple flash game require 10 gigs of storage space? FIX YOUR GAME.
