Hm... I thought the difficulty would ramp up a little faster. A little too easy. Part of it has to do with the fact that they enemies only shoot in patterns relative to the screen -- they don't shoot at you. Anyway, at the beginning, I started off with the cheap badges that give you money. By the end, I switched to higher attack, high rate of fire, regenerate health, and laser buddies.

con: easy. pro: easy.
so I just beat the game without losing a single life or getting a single shield upgrade. You never have to learn boss patterns, just hit em with a fully charged adrenaline boost (usually takes about half their life down, destroys their bullets) and then just stare at your ship and dodge. There aren't many traps in the bullet patterns, so you can get through by just avoiding the bullets closest to your ship.
That being said, it's been awhile since I hopped on Kong and played a game from start to finish. To me that speaks for the game's fun factor. Made me feel like a badass dodging all that shit.

Finished the game, 250778282 points. I don't know where to begin about this fantastic game. The fact that someone was able to program a bullet-curtain style shooter in flash without massive slowdown is amazing in its own right, let alone it being a fun game. Most everything about the game is just right. The graphics are simple and pleasing to the eyes. Mouse controls are spot-on. Upgrades are strategically interesting, except auto-repair, which I found a waste of an inventory slot (thank goodness for a 'sell' option!). There were some minor issues I hope to see resolved in Frantic 2. First, there is a collision problem where bullets pass right by smaller enemies without ever hitting them. Secondly, the game is a bit easy. I was able to beat the game in my first try, and in scrolling shooter standards, that's way too easy.

would have been 5/5 but it does get boring because it is too easy...and i cant imagine how easy it would be if i was able to play with the keyboard for more than one level 4/5

This is pretty fun! My only issue is that I wish the ship followed the mouse more exactly, or that the ship could move faster. Sometimes it seemed to lag pretty bad. Other than that, a lot of fun.

OK, I tried again, but after it shows you your score at the end of stage one, that's it. Nothing else happens. It just sits there looping the music over and over.

very nice. If you wanted to add a "hard" mode at double speed, maybe that'd shut up some of the "too easy" whiners. Be good fodder for an Impossible badge, too!
