How to get the easy badge fastest: first start off by going south through the town areas first, there's about 13 chests you can pick up before going into the mine. use the save points to restore HP/MP. then enter the mine and get your 20th chest after killing the bandits. then close this trash game and never play it again.

Honestly, I have never seen a Flash RPG done better than this. The gameplay does sometimes get really annoying, like with the pixies in chapter 3, but those are few and far between. My favourite way to play this game is to go on the wiki and research the hell out everything I do, but maybe I'm just a completionist ĀÆ\_(ć)_/ĀÆ

*Accessibility Notes:* As I hear there may be another Mardek being produced, I thought a couple of comments may help!
The 'reaction system' is difficult for Disabled Users, though I understand if this cannot be altered.
The main issues however, are visual: the text can be very difficult to read for some Characters (some type of 'Plain text' Menu option would be great here); also the screen-flashing when going into a fight - especially between the Arena levels - can be Migraine inducing (I still have one!), so an option to just remove that would also be great.

No, I was actually wrong! Vim is a passive skill, that automatically levels after every battle fought, hooray! You have to go through 40 battles though for one hero to master it ...

Unfortunately, there's no way to master Vim (resist zombification), since no random encounter enemy can zombify, or get Bonestones for everyone, right?

Go through several minutes of pointless narrative, explore the dungeon for two hours without quite getting the badge, fall asleep. THIRTEEN HOURS LATER -- Open game. No save file. Several minutes of pointless narrative.... grrr. Terrible botd choice. Slow, boring, buggy game. 1/5

Who the heck thought it was a good idea to put a big, slow RPG in the badge of the day? 20 chests...like fifteen minutes in and I haven't even found ONE.

You can go to different levels to get some easy chests. Maybe you'll level up and the main quest will be easier. But don't grind. Grinding is tedious in AAA games, let alone in Flash games.

For those who have trouble: You need to assign the Skill Points before you start fighting. Once you have completed the starting dialog, press enter, then down (for Skills), then X (to assign Mardekās SP), then right for Physical Attack Reactions, then right for Physical Defense Reactions etc. Press down and X to select or unselect skills. The Z and enter keys get you to the previous screens.
By doing so, I could play through the first half of this chapter without any grinding at all. I hope this helps.

"easy" badge. I don't even think it's possible to beat the bandits. The first real enemy. There's just no way. They just heal themselves and your healer guy runs out of mana.

I thought the idea of games was that they gradually get harder as they progress. I tried it a few times, and was always dead by the end of the second or third encounter. Over the course of these games I managed to open a single chest. For what is supposed to be an "easy" badge, I really can't see how it can be anything but medium.
For something this tricky, the characters could have done with being equipped with some potions or method of resurrecting each other rather, or even a few health potions. That would at least give them us a chance, rather than just watch helplessly as the hit point counter slowly drops to zero.

If your issue is that it takes longer than your five-minute attention span... well, I can't help you with that. Maybe try playing games with the intention of enjoying them instead of squeezing out the badge of the day and never playing them again.

Really not sure what people are complaining about. There's 18 chests in the gem mine alone (going back after defeating Muriance), so all you need is two more chests. Take your pick, there's a chest in the Hero's Den, the Goznor Sewers, and the Soothwood, you only need two more if you're only here for the badge.

@bonestheninja Muriance doesn't require any grinding! None of the fights in this game do, aside from maybe the Zombie Dragon. If you're having trouble, be sure to have Deugan hold some of your potions so he can heal in combat if necessary. Also, remember that Mardek's heal spell can target multiple allies by pressing the right arrow key.

Nice "easy" badge.... after nearly an hour of scouring the playable map I reach 19 chests before encountering an impossible boss. Impossible if you don't want to spend hours grinding until you can beat it. Which I'm not at all interested in.
