This game.. is absolutely marvelous. I played it when i first came out in 2010, and I've been playing it over and over thoughout the years. The storyline is hilarious and detailed, each and every battle id exciting, and this game remains to be best flash RPG serious ever. Thanks Pseudo!

First off, props to Pseudolonewolf for his mind. With all of the clever prose, descriptions, and especially all of the haikus, it could not have been easy. I speak for all of us when I say, thank you. Secondly, if you would all go to his website, you would know that the Mardek series is postponed while Miasma is in the works. That, I can't wait for.

I wish there was a TERRORIST!!!1!!1!1 medal for killing the Security Demon. I'd like to hear Jacques' commentary on defeating Warport security. "Zee security at zee Warport is one of zee most important systems in zee world! It is 'ow we stop zee terrorists from terrorizing us wiz terror! I defeated the Fire Guardian by hitting it with a dead fish and throwing water bottles at it. Somehow, I feel the need to question its competence.

The King told me to bring the crystals to him immediately. Instead I've been gallivanting around, saving fairies, fighting in the arena, leveling my characters, and destroying god-like creatures. It's almost like I don't care about the King at all. I wonder how that makes him feel.

I must admit, I truly love this games series. One of the best story lines and concept I've seen. So far I've done everything in chap 1 & 2 now I'm on the water temple. Just love the series!! Rock on Pseudo! *Salutes*

I love this game! Clever, witty, yet sad at the same time. The combat is great and the pixelated graphics make me feel like I'm playing Golden Sun or Final Fantasy all over again. The characters all have an interesting story to tell and the skills set this game apart from many others. 5/5 Pseudo, great job.

Came by to finish it before the end of the year and Abode Flash. It was well worth it, great game. Couldn't have had a better choice for my last big Flash game of 2020.

Listening to something else while playing (4th time playing this game...) and then, in Saul's dungeon, I see this dialog: Rohoph: "Hm? Do you hear something?" Mardek:"No, because the music's turned off!". Bravo, Pseudolonewolf, you've really thought of everything!!!

This is, hands down, the greatest Flash RPG I have ever played. Combat and loot system = flawless. Music = immaculately composed and matches the scenery/mood perfectly. The dungeon design and map system is superb, character development and humour used in-game are fantastic, and Pseudolonewolf has even managed to achieve an incredible balance of main storyline and hidden dungeons the likes of which I have never seen. The artwork is wonderfully nostalgic and really brings back memories of the old SNES RPGs I know and love, and the length of the game is simply phenomenal - across the 3 chapters, I've logged around 25 hours, and haven't even started the wind/fire/earth/water temples yet! (What can I say, I have Obsessive Treasure Chest Opening Disorder). A triumph in Flash game creation. I salute you, Pseudolonewolf. *Salutes*

I hope that people realize that this game wasn't made by a corporation like armorgames or crazymonkeygames...etc.. and that it was made by pseudolonewolf alone and that he makes 3+ other series of games mardek being by far his most popular and well deserved because he spends hours upon hours days upon days months upon months making them and he redid the entire engine for chapter 3 and was nice enough to add it to chapters 1 and 2 to improve the experience to people who just found the game or want to find out what the hell is going on in chapter 3 so shutup haters and try to make a game better than this because this is in the top 3 of free rpg games

I know you already proclaimed that you are done with Mardek for what seems like forever, but if you did decide to fix something in this game, perhaps make it so you can forge items with components from your item storage. It's quite annoying having to go back to the save crystal outside the YALORT temple in Goznor just to get one more pipe, and than figuring out you forgot another component from your item storage.

I must say I'm impressed by the comments that've been posted here overnight! Earlier, I was feeling annoyed at what seemed like a large number of 'haters', but now basically all the comments are positive and many are lengthy too (I always appreciate detail). So thank you, people!
Also, for anyone who's having difficulty with the saving, please heed the starting screen things. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST FLASH PLAYER VERSION! This is very important, as even slightly older versions have really weird problems sometimes. And make sure you allowed enough space for saving, too.

I cannot believe developers work so hard on these games just for idiots' comments to destroy it all. There is always a game before that is like yours; would Final Fantasy be considered a rip-off of Zelda? No. This is a genre. You cannot do this to people. I am a developer, as well, (although not in Flash, but Java, and I will never live up to Pseudolonewolf's awesomeness) and I know how he feels. Why should RPGs be prejudiced like this? Why isn't BTD prejudiced as a rip-off? It's a TD game, and there's millions of those too. I think it's just unfair.

haha, when i was fighting the world saviours, I confused bartholio, so then he "accidentally"attacked bernard, so then bernard counterattacked with "Heh" and ended up killing his own ally.

After killing 1134 Enemys in the Sun Temple while farming for that axe, including 52 Revenants, i'm beginning to realize how few a 5% Chance is.

Best game/series I have played. I love the graphics, combat, menu setup, characters, etc. The whole series gets 5/5 and favorited. Can't wait for Chapter 4.

I have just got the Psychosomatic Exhaustion Badge and would like to congratulate Pseudolonewolf on this great success of a game. I watched the progress bar on his home page for months on end (it got stuck at 99%) and believe this is truly one of the greatest games I have ever played. Many games outstrip it in graphics (though he made a good shot at it) but nothing beats this in plot, it was physically moving, especially at the end, though I shall not ruin the story for everyone
So again, thank you for an excellent game, well worth the time.
And for anyone reading this (I'm not saying + this :D)

I just created an infinite, uncontrollable battle loop.
Zach is in the solo arena, against the Flame Soul. He has berserk, numb, and regen.
Each turn the Flame Soul deals 60ish damage, while Zach regens 90+, but on his turn, he just stands there unable to attack, as though stunned. Amusing, but also annoying.

I refuse to move on to placing the warding stone in the sun temple before finding a Sun Axe. Doing so has cost me 9 hours, has gained me 30k gold and I have earned Donovan 7 levels, mastered all but 2 skills; Sharla 7 levels and all but 3 skills; and Mardek 5 levels and has mastered all but one skill. The hunt is still on, I am determined.

Guys, Pseudolonewolf said on FigVerse Wiki that he plans to start Mardek 4 after Alora Fane: Creation is finished. However, the game probably won't be released for a while, as Alora Fane is not near being completed, and big games like Mardek take a long time to code. If he is to release Mardek 4, it will probably be in >4 years.

So nearly 7 years on from when I first played this game, I've finally completed this masterpiece. Mixed feelings. Happy to have completed it, and fully experienced the game and the story, but feeling kinda sad and empty thinking, "well, this is it..." we're never going to see what was going to happen next. Kinda sad but I respect the developer's decision.
