Yet another critque point - the limit placed on how high your character can level up, AND the corresponding limit to available mana is ridiculous. There are few things more frustrating to someone who's gone to the trouble of collecting all these cards than not to be able to use the most powerful ones at the same time. There are 2 ways I can think of to fix this: 1) raise the level limit to say, level 50 or 2) make it so that as you level up spells, they cost less mana.
Also, to pwner756: ALL the Epic War Games allow your opponent to do this. It's affectionately titled a "revenge wave" by fans of the series. Overcoming it is one of the challenges of the game.

Use ranged units on Cave of Trials 5. Use them to keep the assassin goblin at bay while killing his castle. As soon as you have max units, get in his face fast and hard, lead with a phoenix so they don't take baby steps on the advance. Once the goblin is damaged, he's coming for you.

CAVE #5 (beatable before second game is finished), Please copy&paste this to help out others: INVINCIBILITY is a must; ICE and PHOENIX are highly recommended. First, max the HEAL spell to easily survive the beginning. Then, for those of you who don't know, there's a fricken invincible semi-transparent gremlin WAITING in front of the enemy general dealing 99999 dmg. Only hope is to destroy the other castle asap, so load ur slots with the highest DAMAGING units you have (taurus+gremlins are absolute musts, don't use slow or ultimate units). Move your units close to "the" gremlin without hitting him, General in front, then melee, then range. Activate the phoenix, and as it passes ur units *timing is important, use keyboard!*, activate invincibility and WHORE RUSHHH everything forward. The phoenix knocks everything back, letting ur units bee-line toward the castle, which should die within 15s. Keep eyes on gremlin (might sneak towards ur castle), ICE will buy a few more secs. gl

The "Epic War" series is getting better - steady improvements with each installments. Kudos and keep up new development; I think you're one or two sequels away from having one of the best strategy flash games on the net.

"Rally" to auto send new units to their group.
"Hold Ground" to prevent units from advancing.
"Full Attack" to auto send all new units to enemy castle

While completely different from the previous 2, this is a great addition to the Epic War series. The gameplay is easy to get used to (once you remember to equip your cards), and it allows for a lot more varied strategies. After beating the game 3 or 4 times, I switched to a completely different strategy for the remaining heroes.

I don't think storylines that important for a flash game, admitably counter waves are kinda hard but then again what good is a game you can complete in 5 minutes? perhaps a wider range of units for the beginners example on new game plus i didn't get any new cards since i alreaady had them but good in my opinion better than the previous.

What to say about this game...epic. But, there are many things that can be done to improve. If possible, I would like to be able to select certain units from all races. Then, I think the counterattack should be nerfed a tiny bit. Usually I am rushed by over 100 enemies when the castle is at 2/3 health. The fact that there is no storyline at all kind of disappointed me. However, this game is excellently made. The sound effects are spot on, and I like the idea of unit and skill cards. Being able to move past enemy lines is a great addition too. I miss the castle arrow launcher though. :P 4/5, great game!

I liked it all these pussys complaining about counter waves... Do something about it. Get Phoenix Strike and dont use it until you get a counter wave.

Tips for cave of trial- Use alot of Meteor and spells, Hero to tank and range kill the titans, When trying to beat the second or third one try to have a lvl 4 fire demon or water dragon and max out nearly everything the caves take like 20 min each.

The games is good, and Ive been waiting for it for a while, its just the spawn rate , at the end of the last castle after I kill the yellow dragon, and get their castle to half a 110 guys just come out and kill me that fast Ive tried everything and I keeps dying I got all my monsters maxed out and as well as the spells except for the meteor strike any one know if its a bug or is this how its supposed to go..?

Meh. Super short, can't buy units in-game, and with the same annoying glitch as in Epic Wars 1 & 2: Attacks cancel other attacks, so the fastest attackers win over the slow guys. In #4, get rid of that glitch, make it longer than #2 (the longest of the 3), more units and a combination of what you have in #3 (auto unit production) and the other games (manual unit production). Then I'll give it 5/5. I think I'll give this one 3/5 instead of 4/5, for the lack of progress (each game is like the last except with a new fighting method; it doesn't improve, it changes).

The reward for not letting your hero die has enabled a money glitch: after a battle which your hero survived, go to upgrade and you'll have earned a free 10k gold. Click 'close' and 'upgrade' repeatedly for free money...

Agree . You have to know when to fall back and reform your troop to prepare for their counter waves. Spamming is not a tactic. I have counter waves over 100 untis with Knights centaurs witchs but I don't have any problem beating them

For those of you complaining about enemies having too much units and spawning them too fast: you've got spells, don't you? And what about opponents? What can they do against your phoenix strike+lightning+ice+invunerability? If there were no increased enemy spawn, the game would be greatly imbalanced.
