I'm a huge Epic War fan and I've been waiting for the fifth but this is NOT what I expected. It has great graphics but with all the skills, accessories, and weird controls, it just doesn't add up that great. I have to honestly say Epic War 4 was 10x better. Hopefully they can come out with a sixth but lets hope this time they base it on Epic War 4.

Hey look! It's all the same units from Epic War 4! Cool! Wait... this isn't Epic War 4. Then why... I thought new games were supposed to have new stuff...

this is epic war -5 ! Why?? Lets make a list: its really bad there is no spellbar, troops with spells use the heros mana (wtf??), the grafics are less epic than in previous version, the upgrade system is also worse (you actually have to "farm" exp for that specific unit you want to use - in other epic wars you could spend your exp on upgrading any unit you want!!), the hero dies way to quickly and is no use in later missions (it makes me wish there was a key to LOCK the hero from moving permanently, or bury him into the ground!), there is no click and drag (iphone bleble is no excuse, 99% play this NOT on iphone and there could also be a on/off switch), the first 4 achievements are no achievements but rather additional mission rewards (doh!), the soldiers that represent the mission are creepy and ugly and make all their movements simultaneously which sucks! Epic war minus five! high five!

Nice graphics. In-game. Outside... The menus are quite rough, and the pics of the units do have that stretched look. That scared me in the start.
But hey, this is EW, might as well give it a look, I thought. And it's a great game! The units and stages are well-built, the new spell system is great (not the selection of the spells, oh no. Clicking the right unit in the midlle of the battle may be a lil' disconfortable when you are accostumed to hotkeys.), the upgrades of the units are way more consistent this time around, and I CAN STILL GRIND!
As @d_swabey, I too feel that this should be a better game, all right. Especially in the "bland story" topic. You give us EW2, with a great storyline, filled with text cutscenes, and then this? I mean, really. What a buzzkill. And you changed Viegraff's portrait.

Anyone have an idea how to unlock all units? I finished the game with the skull knight, but I'm still missing 7 different units. And starting with a new hero means you start with 0 achievements and 2 units.

The game took a little bit of time, but never once did i repeat a lvl or needed to. Anyways great game, and i agree with the others the extra xp should have another use.

when we click retreat or charge the yellow arrow should change its colour for the time we click because when i sometimes click charge im not sure that my units will charge or not

give main hero extra health or at least some sort of shield because in the last 5 levels sending them out to fight is suicide

No offense but I lost interest in these "Epic War" games after Epic War 2. Sure each game has different characters and different stories but the gameplay is still the same. Is there nothing to be added to the game to enhance the experience? This is really starting to feel like the Call of Duty of tactical 2D side scrollers.

What some people are saying is true. This probably isn't the best Epic War but it is still fun. Don't know if it has been mentioned but the speed up button could be in a more useful place.

Several useful tips for getting 100% in the game :
1. NEVER ever send your hero unless in the first 3 missions
2. Use wall (Viegraff/Hell Raider/Golem) and put ALL your ranged units in the remaining slot.
3. The centaur has the LONGEST range of attack of all units.
4. Alternatively you can use Regen (Etheria/Vampire) and tanker (Golem and Whitewolf is the easiest to come by) against several bosses.
5. Strike attack type : Black Dragon, Earth Dragon, The Collosus, Undying Primal
6. Slash attack type : Lord of Hell, Fallen Angel, Death, Inferno, The Amazon
7. Pierce attack type : Iron Fortress, Phoenix
8. Use slash/strike/pierce rings on your tanks to survive trials and extras.

what's up with the hero... he's no hero if he just dies as soon as he goes into battle and you lose a fight because of him. He needs to get stronger as you go, not max out at the level of a goblin.

Anyone with 30 units unlocked please share with us the method to unlock the 30th unit, 'cause currently like 95% people is missing that single unit. :)

I just hope that Epic War 6 will be something between Epic War 3 and 5. Or merged. I think conquest element really is necessary for this game.

personally i think this game was at its prime at epic war 2, it just went down hill after that, the loss of the arrow tower was horrible, as well as pretty much everything there was in epic war 2, i think the "march" and "retreat" buttons are nice, but.....doesnt really come in handy, i can beat the game EVERY mission, without using the retreat button, in NONE of the epic wars have i needed it

there has always been a significant flaw in the epic war series; the lack of freedom. people are always complaining that you just have to click a button and wait a couple minutes to win a battle. the arrow tower in earlier versions changed this. something new has to be added so that the difference between winning and losing a battle isn't determined by how many experience points you have spent. environmental hazards that effect certain units for example. and then the units could have different specialisations. one unit may be better at fighting groups of small units while another could be better at fighting units behind enemy lines with a very long range attack. each could have a short tutorial recommending the best situations for each.
