Dogbom: Morale is easy enough by scavenging frequently. One will often get happiness by scavenging. Assuming that you've killed the zombies on these squares: if you're busy collecting two food as long as possible, not only does it add to the likeliness of happiness, such multiple squares helps provide you needed food, and additionally it means fewer zombies are able to attack your town. So except, perhaps, where you need to reclaim to keep growing your town to the edge, then the corner, keep scavenging as long as possible. I hope this helps. :) Good luck!

The problem is morale, you can't raise it early enough and there's not enough things you can do to raise it. Unlike other resources, morale is just luck

LostDivice: You have an interesting definition of "fun," lol. I had to look; I see that you have received the hard badge. Since you really like to fight against the odds you ought to try the original Rebuild. Its hard badge is much harder. Good luck! :)

Claimed 75% of the city. People are on strike due to low morale, a large zombie wave every 2 turns... Down to about 50% of the city and 5 characters left... This is going to be fun.

Morale in Albany is terrible, and I don't see why we should be recovering from injury while others slack off! Well not today! *begins to claw open half healed wounds*

TheAryjo: Since you enjoy this game, is there a reason you haven't got the hard badge yet? To answer your question, have you played the original Rebuild yet? (Just know that its hard badge is much harder than Rebuild 2's hard badge.) And while it isn't quite the same, since I see that you've played Caravaneer 2, have you played the original Caravaneer? If you enjoy strategy games have you tried (most of these are game series): Monsters' Den; Sonny; Cursed Treasure; Protector; Creeper World; Civilizations Wars; Gem Craft; Bloons Tower Defense; The Imperium; Castle Wars; The Enchanted Cave; Desktop Tower Defense; Warlords; Frontline Defense; Feudalism; ClueSweeper; Divine Generals; Frontier; Elements; Empire of the Galaldur … Hopefully that gives you enough games to look at to find some you would enjoy.

Patheon. Also, if you get a scavenger with high skill don't be afraid to keep having them scavange for scraps where it's relatively safe just outside your walls to keep getting new items and happyness boosts.

Phanteon, as someone who has beaten the higher difficulties many times, some hints:
1. It's a lot easier to start from a group of survivors from a previous city who arrived via helicopter. They've learned valuable skills.
2. Play larger cities.
3. You will need to take risks. Use the save-game features. Whether the zombies attack is determined before you end your turn, so if you fail reload and make changes.
4. Always be expanding. Aim for a rectangular shape, but that's less important than having the right buildings in your fort. Go to an edge, then along it to the nearest corner.
5. Your priorities are, in approximate order: Always get a hospital first. Get people. Get food and conquer farms. Get a lab and research zombie vitals, stealth, and anti-venom first - this will start saving lives on turn 75 or so. Get 10 churches / bars.
6. Things you want to avoid if you can: Preaching/bartending. Building to convert a conquered block. Tending crops.

Phanteon, if you enjoy good strategy games, give this game another chance, as it is a great strategy game. FYI, if you think that the harder levels of this game are too difficult to beat, you shouldn't try the original version's nightmare mode, as it is much more difficult, but you should realize that there are people who play that game on nightmare mode and mostly win the game (which is my preferred version). Once I was able to figure out better strategies for this game, I have always been able to beat it on impossible, as can many others. If you are not able to beat the ai, have you considered that your strategy isn't good enough? Try different strategies, or ask for help. I would be happy to help (pm me).
Very briefly: Focus on getting living quarters, farms, and a hospital, as the more people you have the more you can do and the safer you are, though you need to be able to feed them. Also, try to get to an edge (the sooner the better), and a corner is all the more important.

absolutely crappy algorythm this game is based on. at one point the danger percentage starts to rise tremendously without any apparent explanation, enough so that it's not humanly possible to keep up. the two hardest difficulties are simply not playable, no matter the planning and tactics you put into it. at one point the ai just decides to end you and there's nothing you can do about it. pretty broken

I'm sure that the church killed more of my citizens than the zombies.
I was like "Oh, I want to recruit you to help me, but then, in a few days, you're going to KILL YOURSELF BECAUSE OF A CHURCH THAT YOU JUST GOT TO KNOW"
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Ok, we've all learned TO NOT JOIN A CHURCH (or let someone creates one) IN A ZOMBIE APOCALIPSE. These people get crazy around dead/living beings.

Max food with +61 a day, no zombie attacks, day 200, max happiness, lots of schools and high level builders, all land claimed, 49 survivors with 62 limit. I'm pretty sure I won

Must have been a wedding party got eaten by Zed, right in the house of God. Bride, groom, the proud parents, even a flower girl, all torn to pieces. I'll never forget that image.
+5 Happiness :)

"Maybe we should do something to improve happiness." But my preachers won't work because of the morale and it decreases due to morale-related events every day.

Yay, a zombies game! But why would zombies rebuild the city? They are zombies! They just want brains right????? This is weird, but also cool. Maybe.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Okay. It's definitely not impossible, but it's one hell of an uphill battle. As for Impossible difficulty, I'm not going to try that.

Logic of survivors:
1. If you see huge city one block from you and you see it's 100% safe don't go there. Wait for them to ask you
2. If they have no flat or house left don't agree. You are better as homeless man surrounded with Zeds than homeless man in safe place
3. If everything is alright with their city sometimes refuse because horde cmming straight to your place isn't reason good enough to go behind fence.

1: A good strategy is to clear out areas near to your base, as the more zombies nearby the higher threat is.
2: Keep threat below 50 for any mission and at home.
3: I've lost, cleared out, and recaptured the same big farm 3 times so far

You can keep the Church of the Chosen Ones, just do not ignore the event of two survivors overthrowing the Church, otherwise all of your survivors will suicide. The reason for keeping the Church at first,is to gain happiness bonuses that may be critical. Just overthrow it later and everything will return to normal. Also do not ban the book before the church, for there are no negative consequences if you do.

So I called this one guy "Cannon Fodder" and started doing an experiment. I sent this guy alone to clear out an infested Lab and he blew out his eye with a firework, and he became Cannon "One Eye" Fodder, then I sent him to go into the overrun town hall while I reclaimed enough buildings to draft a constitution and he broke his ribs 3 times, got scratched up twice, and still cleared out the entire hall on his own just as I got the last required building. Before he was One Eye, he had a soldier skill of 1. He cleared out a Lab and the entire town hall by himself, bare handed. This is how he became [Knight "One Eye" The Badass]. I love this game.

My entire city was made up of 10 super soldiers, with level 10 in every skill. Then one character called "Fuk Yu" (Because I'm like that yeah) turned out to be hiding a bite, Oh Noes. Then my other character "Fuk Yu Tiu" turned out to be hiding a bite, Oh Noes, what a coincidence. Then one by one, everyone except for the one I started as revealed they were bitten. Everyone died then and there, a day from finishing drafting a constitution to finish the game...

To get the hard badge, start off at pretty easy. Beat the whole game, then use schools to train up five survivors to max stat. Then, send all five of them to new city while using seriously hard diffciulty. With this boost you can clear up the city in no time. + to let others see this.
