Has anyone figured out what all of the town names mean in other languages? The ones I know are -
Poca Cosa = Nothing much (Portuguese)
Drushlak = Strainer (Russian)
Sekir Bashka = Cut off the head (Russian)
Smerd = Peasant (Russian)
Verdammter Platz = Damned place (German)
Diep Gat = Deep Hole (Dutch)
Nirgendwo = Nowhere (German)

As I am reading the opening storyline thingy, I think it is funny how it says, "New animal breeds were raised to suit the hot climate." Although in the game, you have donkeys, mules, oxen, horses, and camels.... I am pretty sure that all those exist today...

this game is sick, ive played it for well over a month so far. at first its kind of hard to just get the feel of the game but when you do its just fun as hell. now im rolling with several hummers and enough soldiers to take out anything the game has to offer, i beat other caravans easy. first timers i suggest using mules with carts for the first few days of gameplay, until you can buy some cars. they can outrun most of the first mobs except the ninjas (but if you have 4 pplz with guns ur good)

I haven't really started playing this yet, but after reading the description... Isn't this game a bit like the Tradewind series (I think thats what it was called, can never be too sure though)?

Lol link, I don't think you understand how turn based games work,
The concept behind turns hinges mainly on action points, action points are basically what determine how fast you do things. Turn based play just slows things down to allow strategy.
When someone's turn is over they are not just standing there waiting, they have already DONE something, and are doing that while the other people take their moves.
For example: It's your turn and you shoot somone in the face twice, then it's somone elses turn and somone else punches you twice. It's not "You stand still while i shoot you and then i will stand still while i punch you" it's meant to viewed as "I'm shooting somone else whilst somone is punching me" The people that move first are the fastest people naturally but they are still moving at AROUND the same time.

/\/\/\/\ STARTING THE GAME OFF GOOD /\/\/\/\/\
1. When you start the game you will arrive in Poca Cosa. You need to talk to the Sheriff to collect your uncle's fortune. You will get $1000 and a Springfield with 50 bullets (automatically equipped).
2. I would reccommend selling your two glass bottles and buying the Water Jerry Can and more ammo for the Springfield (preferably 100 bullets). Go to the market place and buy 20 Food, 20 Medicine, and 40 Forage.
3.Go ahead and pull up the world map and find Caganel (East of Poca Cosa) and travel there. If you haven't fought any robbers yet leave town and go fight some untill you have enough to buy a Browning BT-99, 150 12ga rounds, and a Water Jerry Can. Equip the shotgun and shotgun ammo and any rifle ammo that you forgot to equip.
There you go snipe with the springfeild and shoot them with th Browning and you should be alright for a while collect money and hire more people to help you fight. Good Luck!

@Gilan74 you get AP through experience. The more you use a guy, the more AP he will gain. When you make a character, Intelligence is what governs how fast they gain total AP

It's a very fun game, but, I think if a caravaneer 2 is made, the battle system should not be turn based. That would make the game very realistic, becuase your just not going to stand there with a shotgun and let a guy with a sword cut you, right?

@youngnapoleon the reason there is no instant heal in the desert is because that is completely unrealistic. The creator wanted to make this game as realistic as possible, hence the need for food and water and food for animals and gasoline.

I can't find a save button, just a load button. I'm liking this game. Leave me a shout and tell me where the save is. If there isn't one, this game loses a star...
Where's the save!

A good game with some minor flaws, such as tossing you in without a decent tutorial. Outward going links to a page with a tutorial is not satisfactory. Also, the game is pretty slow, but I kinda like the fact that if you don't have something... you're dead. No ammo, dead. No food, dead. No water, dead. Overall, this is a five-star game, but it hasn't aged well, it feels dated and desolate compared to the games of recent times. P.S. I like the atmosphere. Calm, but with an overall sense of dread. A break from action games, but not a break from the adrenaline. 5/5, for you who just look for the numbers in posts.

Caravaneer 2, if its made, should have mounted guns that you can put on the carts, such as miniguns/ gatling guns, .50 Machine guns, etc. Great game!

a7x1337, you talk to the Sherriff of Posa Cosa to recieve your Inheritance. You'd know this if you had read the introduction, dummy.

TheBlimpy are you kidding me? I've never gotten more than a few hundred dollars off a police/robber battle but I make thousands on any given merchant trip...hell, you can make that much on your first or second trip of the game.

Overall too difficult, interface is not really user-friendly... tried it for a couple days now with moderate success, too frustrating.

Haha, funny to think that most of your $$ comes from fighting robbers/cops and not actually being a "caravaneer"... More like Build-An-Army
