when i saw this "hot new" category with that namesake, i could hardly resist. unfortunately, it is but a pale imitation of the first two games at best, not to mention that when i realized it isn't the same developer, i realized that not only is it not a real sequel, but it isn't part of the series at all. i'll give it 2/5 for presentation and mild enjoyability, but the game is ridiculously easy (to the point that it requires practically no effort) and the missile command plus sit-and-spin shooter design doesn't make it worth riding on somebody else's coattails to get press.

Pretending this was its own game, it makes a pretty nice 5 minute one. 4/5 in that regards. But, you can't just pretend the other two don't exist so comparing it to the rest of the series, 2.5/5 (I can't decide between 2 and 3)
The only really different things are it has a few more jokes drawn up, has a better ending, and has a different minigame to get money from. Which, honestly, was all pretty trivial.

Pls up vote this to emphasis, THIS IS FROM A DIFFERENT DEVELOPER,
Which explains why it is so different,
And personally, the upgrade aspect sucks in this one, theres no innovation, as others have said, as well as, it doesn't upgrade in the same manner, making you WORK for everything, it is just so easy and passive, when you upgrade, take leftover cash and upgrade menu,
yay

Two nice big bars covering up the top and bottom of the screen so unable to see any of the menu at the top, or have the speech when it's at the bottom

I actually liked Destination Kepler, and it had good potential to be a great game, worthy of a retail release if really fleshed out well. But.. now you just go out and steal a name and slab a higher number on it, just for the sake of being able to? Sure, there's no internet government to tell you you're not allowed to do this, and sure there's no internet court to punish you. Not a real one anyway, but us players...? We will remember. Your reputation is forever tarnished. Worth it? Doubt it.

the satirical value of this game is quiet high, so perhaps I can see destination keplar in a new light, at least not as an ad-infested, mediocre executed idle. btw, this game has next to nothing to do with the first two.

Seems like everyone is falling for it. Upgrade is truly complete. 5/5 for knowing how the unwashed masses would react to all of this. Good Trumping, bro!

I'm torn about this game. I really want to like it, because I support the fight against freemium games, which are taking over the market. But to the game itself is still not very good. It takes literally two upgrades to turn it into an idle - the lightning rod+magnet. You don't have to do anything past that.
And while I like the idea that you start with all the upgrades, and then they are taken away, it really steals the fun of getting to see what the game becomes as you progress.
And, as others have said - the upgrades are not very original. It's all we've seen in previous games, only split into many categories.

Hm... well, worked as good as the previous 2 parts... maybe you should have tried another genre as the main-game, instead of a shooter? How about a racing-game? Really bad and confusing graphics, really low and lagging fps, ear-piercing motor-sounds... you get the idea. I give this a 3/5, because it still got the charme and it worked bug-free, but it was too easy and monotonous.

not bad for a short game. once you upgraded, the art was good and the music was nice. the concept of the whole game was excellent. could have been better if the female narrator upgrade showed more cleavage. jk, but not really. sadly that upgrade was short-lived and clicked through pretty fast..... anyhow, too bad some kids playing this game have trouble understanding satires, and it's disappointing that some people may need more hints such as "too bad you upgraded ads annoyance. now I can't disrupt your gaming experience with ads to make you pay real money" or something a little more obvious like that to get the rhetoric behind this whole game. 5/5 and a thumbs up from me.
