A program named Ruffle will let you play SWF files directly from your computer, and the flash file for this game can be found on the creators comment section.
Was playing this all night last night, it works :)
Praise the lords.

protectopedia needs a section on wtf some item effects are. gold return?loot chance (is it for that hero's units only or as long as the hero is in that battle?)
some other improvements that could be made: split the wave indicator into top and bottom halves to show strength and weakness of the wave. makes it much easier to see if all those energy units you are building now will be entirely useless against the latter half of the map and or absorbed (which should have a special icon entirely) so you dont go overboard and build so many it kills you.

Good game, but I keep losing my saved games - any chance of an online save? I've done the first dozen quests over and over :-/

Fantastic game, Undefined! Kudos to you!
Meanwhile:
-Points into Elemental don't seem to help archer units. I've not tried with melee units.
-Live damage reporting by units against unarmored units would be nice to see in the upgrade screens
-Keyboard shortcuts to upgrade units and cancel the upgrade screen would be helpful, less stress on my mouse hand!
-I'd REALLY like to see the elemental STRENGTH of incoming units as an icon, instead of their weakness. Perhaps a split icon? Strength on top, weakness on bottom?
All in all, just as addictive as the rest of the Protector series, even going back to Defender!

Few things you might want to consider changing: (1) Provide some indicator of which missions are complete and which aren't. (2) In the home base, provide a comparison between heroes so you can see if its worth hiring new ones without having to go back and forth. (3) Give new heroes serious upgrades or nerf the original heroes. There isn't enough of an incentive to buy new heroes after the old ones are upgraded unless you want to grind them up again.

Fun game. Difficulty can spike at times and some units seem to be pretty much worthless...but I've already sunk over 11 hours into the game.

so your telling me that, I, the mighty dragon slayer who currently defends this entire kingdom from all things evil cannot chop down a single tree to place a unit on?

NeoN, there is a scroll to reset your basic skills to experience (a bit less, but still), probably one for heroes as well :]

For all you people who don't know what Consecration is...If the enemy's strong element is the same with the Consecration user's element, the user will do full damage, plus the Consecration bonus.

this game seriously needs a more intuitive way to level up your towers. having to exit out of every window and click on skill menu for each unit to level is unessiary, simply make it so when you do click to level up a tower, it shows skills first and click to see stats. a key bound to exiting menus would also be nice, as well as a key to hit to upgrade... such as the top line would be 1/2/3 secound level 4, 5, last tier 6 7 8 for each row... just my 2cp :D

While I know the game isn't maintained anymore; balance-wise melee needs a buff. There's too many maps where you can't use melee or else you lose to the flying rounds. And melee doesn't get enough of a damage boost to justify being used over stuff that can hit flyers.

Some suggestions for protector V, 4x speed; On the stats page you could have more details about every faction's units, base damage, speed, special atack, the skill tree of each unit etc; the option of selling units, dismiss heroes; a more practical map; forbid you to buy a talent scroll if you already have it, automatically use the talent scroll when buying it; A more practical inventory.

The items that wipe your heroes player take 10% of your exp. So if you have 10000 exp and use the item, you would have 9,000 exp after you use the memory swipe item.

consecration is ability to make more damage even for creatures which are strong against this element
eg. your spearman is fire unit but that rat is strong against fire and absorbs! you take a consecration and now your unit can hit that rat :)

Adding some hotkeys would be a nice touch. Maybe just for a few of the basic repeat functions such as speeding up/slowing down frame rates, the start wave button, mute, etc. Great game!

Fun game like it's predecessors, but I just don't understand some of the potions... I use a potion that increases drop rate 150%, 25 waves later 0 drops...

I don't really see the point of melee guys. It seems like a better idea to just make your range and magic really good rather than having units that can't hit certain enemies. Seems like a waste of money to me.

Too easy, just get a mage of each element type, pump your magic stat, get the 6 magic, 6 elemental hat x 3 from the council, place archwizards everywhere you can and win the game....no challenge, nothing will get past, no strategy required other than having 2 types of elements on the field when there are absorb mobs....by the end my archwizards were going 600+ damage to mobs that were "strong" against their element type.

I would go as far as to say Protector is my favorite TD series. Having elements of a RPG infused with a TD makes it much less boring than any other TD I've ever played.

the only thing you should worry about is strength+absorb waves, if there are any. Otherwise, get a hero that has an archer with consecration and just pwn. For some reason the hero with trainees is the best if you put all your personal skills into "Magic use" and hero's into "Magic" and then "Elemental", have him carry highest +magic/+elemental equipment, along with element change if necessary, while your other heroes carry +loot, -pave, +lives stuff that's hero-independent. +steal is useless while you have no units that can steal.

maybe there could be a target modifiers like aim for the first guy or the last guy that way people with slowing or poison abilities could affect more enemies
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Also another thing I seem to have found useful is to have your third hero more like a benefit mule, lives and paving cost are global, if you're on the skaran quests you have 1 Life, have your mule pick up some extra lives on his/her items.

It's an absolute travesty that that horrible Elephant game is gonna steal your 'best of the month' award. I can't begin to express how much that game sucks. And yet, it instantly became the #1 rated game on the whole site.... wtf.

Curious. Is Arkandia Jones a waste of money? You spend $1000 to get a rusty ring you can sell for $59. Or a scroll worth $400 you can sell for $269. Money better spent on items you need in the stores? Have lots of money so have been sending him out frequently --- level is 300% efficiency. I am questioning his value.

The Protectopedia still needs a ton of work. It would be nice to have a quick reference of all the units/abilities without having to look around, imo.

I like the game but some things are just a mystery to me like why my amulet of supremecy (elemental +3) is worth more (even tiny amounts) than my amulet of the defender (elemental +4)?
