I like the game but some things are just a mystery to me like why my amulet of supremecy (elemental +3) is worth more (even tiny amounts) than my amulet of the defender (elemental +4)?

I keep coming back to play this awesome TD game.. but i guess the sequel wont be made since there hasnt been any changes on their homepage for a very long time + forum is down for "extended maintenace" so sadly the project seems dead :(

@knightshade99: Consecrate makes the unit deal extra damage to things that it would normally be weak against (things that are strong against the unit's element). Best of luck!

@ deadlybeamer20 I think we're all aware of that, including the dev. you should probably read the description on protectorworld first before posting senseless dribble.

Another thing for those losing save files: You should try n make sure if you have it set to consistently delete history to NOT delete cookies as well.

One thing that could REALLY help this game is a mass-auto-upgrade that just upgrades everything all at once so you don't have to click the guy, click the upgrade, click close, click the next guy and so on. On certain levels this takes forever. One of my favorite games though :) + if you agree this needs a mass auto upgrade

Dam I miss these games. I remember playing the shit out of these things in high school. Would love to see a new one if that ever happens :/

Interesting fact: If you rename a recruited hero, they can reappear at the base camp. Also, Protectomon are 'looted' during quests like items, and you can increase your chances of getting them by replaying storyline quests. So just replay one map with units with the 'loot on kill' ability. (Took me 18 times on the hydra quest to get them all.)

Great game. What would put it over the top is if the units had targeting options, i.e. units that cause infection target units that aren't already infected, as opposed to always attacking the creeps closest to the exit.

Are you sure element change as a property no longer exists? Because in the Council's Court shop I found an item that said: elemental switch: energy.

Suggestions:
1) Faster speed!
2) Option to automatically send waves instead of clicking between each one.
3) Some reason to use melee units... like enemy types immune to magic and ranged attacks.
4) Easier way to compare heroes.
5) Easier way to see the faction affiliation of units.
6) Sort the in-game achievements.
7) Sort button for inventory.
8) More info in Protectopedia on... well, nearly everything.
9) Option to hide/dim completed quests.
10) More challenging enemies on later quests. (Maybe a toggle-able 'heroic' mode that doubles the difficulty and rewards of all quests?)

Once I checked the names of my units and saw Pssthpok the Trainee and Luis Wu the Archwizard. I tipped 10 Kreds just for the Niven references. XD

One thing that might help, being able to port your data from protector IV would be awesome, since this IS an expansion.

Wow, real bunch of complainey pants around here - the protector series is awesome, especially considering how the dev translated a more rpg style game into a TD. Still a favorite of mine that I come back to once in awhile

I just used an Original Protectorpedia on a hero with 12 skill points, and it completely mind-wiped the hero back to 0 xp 0 skills! That's ... rather violent, and not a 'small amount' of experience lost in the transfer as it says on the label.

@rikilord The "leadership" player skill allows you to hire one hero per leadership point. The "leadership" hero skill reduces the cost to upgrade that hero's units by 2% per leadership point.

Protectomons: How to knock out your collection. Step 1: buy 3 "Gentleman's Dress Rings" and equip on the same hero. Step 2: if your hero isn't "Fire" already buy cheese and convert him/her. Step 3: if your hero's Basic unit isn't "Scavenger" buy "Convent Commands" until you have them.
Step 4: Play "Ruined Smithy" and only use Scavengers upgrading with looting asap. Step 5: repeat step 4 until all Protectomons are collected. You should get anywhere from 2 to 6 protectomons each time you play. I got all of them in no time.

Not being able to sell already placed units is a strategic point of the game. Removing that would make it even easier. :/

I am sure this is aw wonderful game but I don't know if I am willing to spend time on it. Because it is exactly like Protector IV but with an update that requires you to start all over. It took forever to get the protectomon, talents, heroes, and faction gains. Just to start over for new missions and a loss of item types? 4/5
