161281 Blue, hard mode, 29 turns. I signed a pact with violet about turn five before we made contact so that saved a bunch of units. Violet finished off red and I wiped green. I snuck around the bottom of the map and captured a city close to violet's territory before they finished red and had a nice base to launch my attack on them as soon as red bit the dust.

161281 as Blue, hard, 36 turns. No "enemy units turning into naval units" either. Honestly the comp made some tactical mistakes, but still... Cannot believe I pulled that off.
*Sorry correction, was as blue not green*

For the people who couldn't sign a pact. Try that when you have more cities then others. The logic is very simple. If you are stronger, your potential enemies are willing to tag along with you.

Me: yes! I defeated the enemy empire, And freed its conquered kingdom.
kingdom: thanks! now lets go to war.
Me: wow...

Map #978188 is an interesting fight as Green. It took me 39 turns on hard. I defeated Purple first, then Red, and finally Blue. I tried to make a quick conquest of blue but the red got there fast enough to save them resulting in a protracted war.

@Fredrikshald: as in real life, a treaty with Italy (green) is a mistake. ;-) you have to land on the southern landmass early, secure Niamey and hold it. Then push on west and capture Bangui. the territory around these two cities will give you exactly the missing armies you need to win the war in the north. When you stabilised the front there, take down green, then red.

Another good one: 371757 with green on hard. Took me two attempts: First, it looks easy, but the supply routes are pretty long, so it´s very hard to take blue down first (which you must) while battling off the other two.

Ah, map 210519 on hard as blue reminds me of ww2. Blue (me) being Deutschland, signing a pact with Italy (green), green slowly being erased while I enjoy success, and the numbers finally take me down.

@chegeek Beat 340845 as Red on hard my first try. It helps to have a pact with Violetnam at first, while keeping a strong defense against the Bluegarians and Greenlanders. Then, conquer Violetnam, while still defending against the other two. Then, take back all your lost territory before you expand again. Finish by taking the Bluegarians next, then finish by surrounding the Greenlanders with superior numbers. I think the key to this game is defense and patience. Rapid expansion never ends well.

Darn you kongregate comment system, lacking any way to edit or delete. Now I must live with the shame of having typed 'thout' instead of 'thought' forever D:

Well, I totally misjudged those starting positions! I thout Blugaria would be easier so I was saving it for last; I was wrong! Violetnam gets so aggressive... But I won anyway (After a restart with a new strategy)

@chegeek That map looks pretty standard. So far I've won as Greenland and Violetnam on hard. Halfway through my Redosia campaign, things are looking good.

I don't know about you guys, but I like to imagine that I'm the USSR when I play and that the others are Romania, Italy, and Germany.

If you an't seem to take on city/hexagonal piece of land, just encircle it and then take it by tank assault. It works EVERY time.
And the over all key to winning is logistics. "Ameteurs talk tactics, professionals talk logistics."
