TL;DR: Terrible game and I wish Kong had never given it a badge of the day.
The mechanics are grinding with little to break up the monotony. Any time I do something interesting, like hit the top or get a Ultimate Smash, I am rewarded with a fireball which gets distance but also can't hit creeps.
The game is insulting and violent. I start by customizing an avatar. But then I am instead playing bruisers who treat him as a punching bag. His blood is spattered everywhere and the "ultimate move" requires watching 10 seconds of him simply being hit repeatedly.
And why would I want to beat up on him? Because he's an overweight web developer who talks about programming and roleplaying? Basically this is about glorifying the people who made school a living hell for people like me? Great idea. Even the "voice" of the geek is the same mumbly mocking tone I remember from back in *middle school*. Why would Kongregate think this is something they should promote on their front page?
The game would be so much better if they would run _away_ instead of run in a random direction. Spend so much time just going "go down the stairs, why don't you!"
I sometimes wonder if the surveyor is corrupt. He puts a gold sign in the middle of town, I blow up a whole bunch of people and get nearly nothing. :-D
I find the game just rude. "Too hard for you?" Yes, I'm already hitting surrender, you don't need to insult me when I'm trying to learn the F'ing game.
The pancakes have glue on them. The number of times I've had to throw out a stack because I forgot to put something between two pancakes is irritating. I should just be able to remove the top one. (Assuming there are no toppings beneath it.)
BUG: If my wall is less than 3 squares away from the edge, the enemies literally walk right through them. (3 empty squares between the gold unbuildable area and the wall.)
Character runs left/right and doesn't so much fall as fling himself at the ground. GAH. It's too fast to play with "normal game" reaction times and too slow to twitch. FRUSTRATING.
FRUSTRATING! Concept good, graphics simple, but character moves too fast! Entire game needs to be at 3/4 speed. A tap on the arrow moves the caracter off most of the platforms in the game. Dying 10 times because I no longer have twitch reflexes is irritating not enjoyable.
If you have problems getting the game to start, you apparently have to accept third-party cookies (or accept all cookies).
Boo, Casual Collective, boo. You shouldn't force people to have insecure settings to play your games.
Decent trading game... 4/5. But it's tedious and repetitive, with little to add to "go here, sell stuff, buy stuff, go there," so 3/5. And the interface is poor and glitchy. Most trading games have buy/sell on one screen, makes playing easier. Needs a "sell all" for arms & armor. Arms & armor can get stuck on the screen, doesn't always seem to drop in the right place.
