The health steal of vampire+bat seems counterintuitive because the health is stolen before the vampire takes damage. So if my vampire attacks a 17-heart monster when his health is completely full, he steals nothing (because full) and then loses 17 health. It would seem more intuitive to me if the maximum amount of health was stolen, then damage taken, then vampire's health lowered to his maximum if it higher than that.
I usually keep my negative opinions to myself, but after nearly 6 months of consecutive logins, I'm going to say it. I had a little fun when I started playing, but now THIS GAME IS BORING AND DEPRESSING. The reward for doing something is the chance to do the exact same thing all over again, except that it takes more time. As can be seen from the other comments, the developers have chosen to invest their resources in new art, rather than new gameplay features that might hold players interest. There were going to be guilds, there was going to be a second city to do stuff in. I'm tired of waiting, going to go play other games now. 2 stars.
Thank you so much for this wonderful game, Empalu! I loved exploring all the intricate maps - that drew me in to the game about a year ago. All the varied skills and fighting methods add plenty of depth and replayability. And, in this last update, the little story about fighting for one's home grew into an epic story about what distinguishes ponies from monsters. Very well done! I didn't know about kkat's original crossover fan-fic until I saw this game, so I have that to thank you for as well: thanks for turning me on to another great read.
Quite an enjoyable chapter for me, especially the very cool disillusion effect of the camera. Puzzles were not too hard but not too obvious either. For a short chapter like this, too much story information was given; it was just details, without a climax or ending. I do hope we will gradually see the rest of this game in installments, as with the previous fmstudio game.
I am having problems with lvl 18. The game freezes when I use Terror several times to remove the charm from towers. The first time it happened, I refreshed the web page and tried again. But the exact same thing happened. So now I am stuck. I didn't have any problem using Terror to remove charm from towers in lvls 16 and 17.
I remember playing and enjoying this game when it came out a few years ago. But something has happened to it :((( Now it is getting stuck in an endless loop at the end of some battles: my screen fills up with many copies of honey, reward card, and message that monk added 2% experience. The only way to stop it is to refresh the web page. But that kicks me out of the map I was working on. So there is really no way to progress now :(((
I enjoyed this, nice mysterious and slightly creepy atmosphere. Yes, the navigation could be more straightforward; IMO "go back where I came from" should always be down. But there aren't very many rooms, so it is not too big of a deal. The one place I needed help was with the metal plaque on the altar. I didn't realize that those four little dots around it (the rivets) were separate objects.
I am glad you enjoyed the game. Thank you for playing and for your comment. Perhaps mentioning the four rivets when you touch the plaque is not a bad idea.
Very enjoyable puzzles, some quite tricky. Interesting use of extraneous elements in some levels, so that part of the puzzle is "Do I need to use this at all?" rather than always "When do I use this?"
I decided to come back and replay this game while waiting for Beranek's new game to come back. 8 Temples is an old game, and it doesn't work properly in up-to-date browsers. (I could save just fine, but loading a save gave only the top left quadrant of the game, so I could not continue playing.) Luckily, I still have Internet Explorer on my computer, and 8 Temples works just fine in that. :)
Try again, try again, try again, try again, try again, try again, try again, try againx100... ok, I'm bored, I give up. The mechanic of creating row removers and bombs, and then moving them to where we need them, is interesting. But it takes soooo much luck to get the right block configuration in the right number of turns for some of the levels. We can be trying again and again and again for hours.
Hi SataiDelenn, I had the same question about the chest slots, so I emailed support. Cloudcade Rain told me that the chest slots do not open automatically. We must unlock them with gold when we reach the required arena ranking. So it is time for us to save up a lot of gold!
Ok, this is now in my to-do list. Thanks for playing.
